I gave Safelite my full VIN number and all vehicle details when I booked my appointment, waited a week, and showed up—only to be told they ordered the wrong window. There is no reason the wrong part should have been ordered when they had the exact VIN. I rescheduled and came back for the second appointment. My husband dropped the car off early, and someone from the shop called around 3:30 to talk about calibration, which made it sound like the car was almost done. No one ever called to say the car was ready. Instead, we get a call right at closing time telling us they were “about to pull off” and we needed to come get the car immediately. We had no idea they closed at 5, because most service centers call as soon as the work is completed—not at the last minute. We rushed up there, only to see they were still finishing the car, not walking out the door. To make things worse, when my husband tried to pay, his card declined because the employee never entered the zip code. She never asked for it. I had to jump out of the bathtub, throw clothes on, and drive up just so my card could be used—then she did enter a zip code and it went through. Meaning his would have worked if she had done it correctly from the start. Between ordering the wrong part after being given the VIN, poor communication, acting like the customer is inconveniencing them at closing time, and basic payment mistakes, this location is simply not thorough or competent. I would not recommend the Mishawaka Safelite to anyone.
