- CCCamJan 18, 20261.001/27/26 another week with multiple attempts, no one has responded or contacted me back. 01/19/26 I brought my 2004 BMW 325xi here for service. Afterward, I discovered the wheel fasteners had been tightened to approximately ~160+ ft-lbs. BMW’s factory specification for this vehicle is ~88 ft-lbs. The lug bolts are steel and thread into aluminum hubs. Since the service, the threads no longer hand-thread smoothly and show significant resistance, which was not the case prior to this visit. At proper torque, the fasteners no longer feel correctly seated, indicating thread damage. I have owned this car for 12 years and perform my own maintenance. The hubs were replaced three years ago and were in good condition before this service. I contacted the shop and was put in touch with a regional manager, who stated he was going to verify their torque equipment. Its been over more than two weeks, I have not received any further response. Over-torquing wheel fasteners beyond manufacturer specifications is a safety issue. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.
