I brought my 2004 BMW 325xi here for service. Afterward, I discovered the wheel fasteners had been tightened to approximately ~160+ ft-lbs. BMW’s factory specification for this vehicle is ~88 ft-lbs. The lug bolts are steel and thread into aluminum hubs. Since the service, the threads no longer hand-thread smoothly and show significant resistance, which was not the case prior to this visit. At proper torque, the fasteners no longer feel correctly seated, indicating thread damage. I have owned this car for 12 years and perform my own maintenance. The hubs were replaced three years ago and were in good condition before this service. I contacted the shop and was put in touch with a regional manager, who stated he was going to verify their torque equipment. Its been over more than two weeks, I have not received any further response. Over-torquing wheel fasteners beyond manufacturer specifications is a safety issue. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

Tires are great came back for my free oil change thank you. However 3 stars....You literally have a TV in the lobby that shows the guys sitting around talking on their phones in bays. No sense of urgency... Slow day no reason an oil change takes an hour + I can do it myself at home in 20 min.

From my experience, this business was very dishonest. I called and scheduled an appointment for a nail removal. They pushed me back because they were busy. I waited for 3 hours before they took my car back. When they finally came out, they told me that my side wall had a leak and I needed a new tire. They brought out a quote with one tire, no discussion on tire options. My husband arrived around that time. He asked to see the leak. The mechanic replied “I didn’t look for a leak, there’s some dry rot on the tire and it needs replaced.” I took the tire to belle tire and they patched it without issue. Buyer be warned, especially if you are a female.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tire Discounters

How do I know if I need an alignment?

The #1 cause of uneven or rapid tire wear is misalignment. Your vehicle also may pull to one side or feel "loose" when steering, and you might even observe a drop in fuel economy. Alignment is critical to tire life and vehicle safety. In fact, if you install new tires on a misaligned vehicle, some manufacturers won't even honor your tire warranty. Everyday driving, potholes, hard turns, and sudden stops, gradually knock your wheels out of alignment. This wear is natural, but it can quickly chew through your tires. That's why Tire Discounters includes a FREE alignment ($129.99 value) when you purchase 4 tires installed. It's just another way we help you get more life (and more value) out of your tires.

How do I get a free alignment?

At Tire Discounters, when you purchase any 4 tires with installation, you get a FREE alignment. A 4 wheel alignment is valued at $129.99, and comes with a 12 month warranty.
