  I drive a company car and have a personal vehicle. I take both to jiffy lube because they are professional, kind, and do quick and thorough work. I never have anything but good things to say about the work crew.

  I have been a loyal customer at the Jiffy Lube - 86th St & Allisonville Rd location for years, but my most recent visit was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. First, the building was freezing cold while customers were waiting inside, and there was no coffee available. That alone made the wait uncomfortable. I came in for an oil change, a low beam headlight replacement, one windshield wiper, and a fluid refill. I was told it would be about 15 extra minutes because they had to order my oil, which I understood. However, when the oil arrived, they had only ordered two quarts — which is not enough for my vehicle. No one informed me of this mistake. About 20 minutes later, I was told they would need to go pick up more oil, again without clearly explaining that they had failed to order the correct amount in the first place. This resulted in even more time spent waiting in a freezing building. When my vehicle was finally finished, I was informed — as I was about to leave — that they did not replace my low beam headlight because they “didn’t have the right tool.” I was then told I would need to go to the dealership. This was very frustrating because this same location has replaced that exact headlight before. This should have been communicated upfront, not at the end of the service. Regarding the discount for the excessive wait, I had a $27 coupon. When I asked how much of a discount they were offering due to the inconvenience, the employee would not give me a clear answer and instead asked how much my coupon was worth. In the end, I was only given $1 more off than my coupon — which hardly reflects the inconvenience and poor communication I experienced. To make matters worse, when I got into my car, the hood warning light was on indicating the hood was open. An employee came around and claimed the light was already on — which it was not. I opened the hood, had him properly close it, and the warning light immediately turned off. That was concerning. After years of coming to this location, this experience was disappointing. The lack of communication, poor preparation, and careless final inspection were unacceptable. I expect much better from a place I have trusted for so long.

  This was the first time that I have been told to stay in my vehicle during the oil change. That is ok, just different. After I left, I realized that they didn't clean my exterior windows or vaccum, which have been done in the past. I'm not sure if these things just aren't done anymore or not. It was just something that was a nice touch and made a person feel taken care of. So, I am disappointed that they weren't done. It made the price more tolerable. They did check the lights, fluids, air filter and change the oil like I would expect. I was grateful that they told me about leaks.
