I suspect all these recent 5 star reviews are friends/family of the employees; probably of the shady manager Alex VanZandt. Alex must have told me 5 times he was the manager, but Alex “the manager” didn’t tell me ANY of the important and pertinent information. This is the second time I’ve rented from them, both insurance covered rentals. I was told I had to give a $50 deposit refundable. The first time they took $600 from my checking account and it took MONTHS, getting USAA and my bank involved to get my money back.
This time they kept my $50, charged me an additional $100, and now today they charged another $118.91. I have disputed the charges with my bank and spoke to an attorney.
Prior to renting Alex yammered at me about the car he was going to put me in, but it’s wipers were broken, told me more times he was the manager, told me about the “totally refundable” deposit, told me I must return with the same amount of gas the car has in it now, walked around the car pointing out the scratches and dents they KNOW exist (yet he never marked down on my paperwork) told me how to put the vehicle in reverse bc it was different than most cars, and then told me to sign his iPad. I asked what I was signing and he said “Everything we just went over.” What Alex DID NOT SAY is theres no smoking, that if you DO smoke they’ll charge you $250. I smoked in my previous rental car and they were none the wiser, apparently. Alex saw an ash in the floor, so Scooby deduced I had smoked and told me to clean that up was $250. Alex claims I was TOLD verbally during his yammering. I was not. There’s no “no smoking signs” in the vehicle, no mention by Alex in all his yammering, no signs in the office that ALL cars are now non-smoking, there’s nothing. Pretty sure I’d remember being told smoking a cigarette could cost me $250 to smoke. Alex told me, “I should’ve known bc this isn’t the 90’s and people know it’s socially unacceptable to smoke.” His generation vapes, so is vaping in the car okay? I don’t know, that was not discussed either. Is vaping the same as smoking to Enterprise? Maybe Alex needs to focus on doing his management job and not just bragging himself up as “the manager.” A true manager would know it’s super important to actually DO his job, give the customer all the pertinent information, properly show them how to operate the car he’s getting ready to have them drive, they’ll charge you $250 if you smoke in their car.. But alas, Alex was a typical young boy, busy bragging on himself. Maybe Enterprise needs to give Alex a checklist that the client initials that they were told all the important things, have a space to write down all the cars existing issues , etc., that the client initials. “Trust me bruh” isn’t how business works, Alex. Alex is a scammer. The only question is, is he asked to be a scammer by his employer, Enterprise? Never again will “trust me bruh” work on me. I’ll drive to the airport so I don't have to deal with Enterprise and it’s uneducated 20 something, smart ass; that’s full of himself, not knowledge of his job. Go ANYWHERE else unless you have $250 - $600 you’re just dying to give Enterprise to hold for you, have the time to fight for months to get your money back. Alex has to produce to my bank documents i signed stating I knew about the $250 smoking fee, that I signed saying I had been told it was a non smoking car, and that I knowingly violated those agreement. He has to produce signed documentation. He said it was verbal. In court, you have to prove the same thing with documentation. Verbal doesn’t fly. Maybe Alex needs to take some management classes before being made a manager. Maybe he was picked for his lack of education , malleable morality, so they could blame it on his ignorance and the customer. Don’t trust Alex or Enterprise! I will get my money you illegally took from my bank account You had permission to take the $50 refundable deposit, not whatever you wanted to take, for whatever you could make up to do so.
