- RSRobert SadlerFeb 11, 20261.0I ordered an air filter online for pickup here. This store is about 20 miles away from me so I had quite a drive for pickup. Ordering went smooth, said the store had it in stock and would be notified when it was ready for pickup. I received a notification that it was ready for pickup so I drove to the store. I got there and was told that they didn't have it in stock. I was told that they couldn't get a hold of me to let me know. Advance Auto has my cell number and email address so I don't know the reasoning for that. I was told that another store, an hour away listed it as in stock. I didn't want to drive another hour to find out that they might not have it also. I wasted an hour of time and gas for nothing. I received another notice today that it was ready for pickup. I'm not falling for that again!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward.
