We bought a camper from CW, and our experience has been terribly disappointing. The overall handling of our time was wasterful and unprofessional, leaving us with serious doubts about their performance.
We were first-time buyers and had a fantastic time with Brandon (new employee), who is the only reason you guys deserve a star, and a couple of the sales members. We were told that they did not have the time to finance that day, but that they would start the process. - Brandon you did great, I'm just sorry your team let you down -
However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when we arrived the next day, ready to move forward with the camper and loan, only to be told nothing was ready as the loan manager was out due to a stomach bug, with more details than necessary. (I am unsure why the GM felt it prudent to give such details, but he did give us a small gift card - $200) So, we drove out again for no reason, and no one else was available to go over the process.
Then, finally, they were ready. We came back and asked to see other campers before we took the tour of our newly purchased camper. The service department was livid with two blonds (male & female) coming up to the sales desk, basically fuming (believe me, we could all see it) because they had staged the camper for our first tour. We were simply asking to view a few others prior to. They incorrectly assumed we were backing out of the one for which we were originally there. For whatever reason, they closed the camper down. Not even 15 minutes later, when we were ready to tour it, they sent Darin (new employee) to show us the ins/ outs of the camper. We still do not know how to replace filters, how our audio system works, the solar panels, or basically any off-grid things. Unfortunately, during the tour, Darin restated that he was new and unsure of how to operate certain things. Honestly, we felt bad for him.
For the amount of money spent on a camper, we expected far better treatment and basic professionalism. Based on our experience with the service departments, we would not recommend Camping World.
We came back after having our water filter freeze and break. We called in advance to ensure they had the right item stocked, and not only did they confirm that they did, but they also reassured us that it was a covered warranty item. We go and grab it, to then come back to our camper, where the item isn't even the right piece, and to an email from Ariah (new employee) stating it was not a warranty item and that we would need to be charged for it. Now, we have to go back and return the said item anyway.
It's a 1-hour and 30-minute round trip. Every. Single. Time.
Better train and pay your staff; maybe that will help with your turnaround rates. Who knows. Just do better.
