- BRBarbara RobertsNov 28, 20251.0I went to the Batesville store and it was like 5 til they closed I pulled in a guy walked out I walked n go to the section I needed I only needed a socket and next thing I hear is some one yelling across the store that they were closed I was like it's not 8 yet I only needed 1 thing but forget it il take my business else where. Then another experience before this I had bought a air compressor paided 80 for it lost the receipt but I put my number in when I paided for it so it was in the system I had bought it a week ago and they wouldn't let me return it it never was used by me I went to use it and it didn't work so I wanted to exchange it or get a refund and they wouldn't do nothing without a paper receipt even tho it was there in the computer system in front of them. Which was total bs. Waste of money.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
