I rented a vehicle from Enterprise Rent-A-Car on March 6th for a trip to Destin, and was provided with a Volkswagen Taos.
We departed at approximately 3:00 AM on March 7th. Shortly after beginning our trip, it became clear that the vehicle was unsafe to operate at highway speeds. It was unstable when encountering potholes or normal road imperfections, making it difficult to maintain control. Given the road conditions in Indiana and the fact that we were driving in the dark for several hours, avoiding these hazards was not always possible.
In addition, the vehicle had defective speakers, producing significant distortion and rattling at low volume levels (above level 10), rendering the audio system largely unusable.
After arriving in Destin, we promptly went to Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Fort Walton the following day to exchange the vehicle due to these issues. At that time, we specifically pointed out existing scratches and windshield chips on the replacement vehicle. The employee acknowledged these pre-existing conditions and confirmed they would not be an issue.
Despite this, I have now received notice that a $500 claim for a cracked windshield has been submitted to my insurance. This is unacceptable. I have clear video documentation from the time of pickup that shows the pre-existing windshield damage, and I am fully prepared to provide this evidence.
Filing a claim with my insurance without any prior communication is both inappropriate and unwarranted. At a minimum, I should have been contacted to discuss the alleged damage before any claim was initiated. Had that occurred, I would have immediately provided proof demonstrating that the damage was pre-existing.
I expect this claim to be withdrawn promptly after review of the evidence. Please confirm that this matter is being corrected and that no further action will be taken with my insurance provider.

Called this location four times on Sunday in between 10:45 and 11:32 am every single time I stayed on hold over 10 minutes . On my fifth try, DYLAN finally answered the phone. I relayed to him that I had something missing that I was looking for. He told me to be honest man I have five or six people in the lobby right now and I don't have time for this ! I get you're frustrated. I get you're probably running the branch on your own, but I can only imagine how your attitude is translating in person as to see It wasn't very pleasant over the phone. Do better !!

Jesse and his team are quick, and professional! You can tell that even new hires pick up on their processes quickly. This will now become my new store to get rentals.

I use Enterprise anytime I’m in a pinch and they always come through with same-day rentals. The customer service is top tier and they genuinely make you feel like an individual, not just another customer.
