- SYsteve young3 days ago2.0Repair wise, a few minor issues that were resolved ( to be expected from myself )... service from my appraiser was very good... the only draw back is a safety concern for myself and public. 7 days after my truck was picked up and repairs completed; excluding the minor things I found, I made an appointment to get those few minor issues resolved (which was resolved, except the horn...did not work when I left ) however in between the appointment I heard a loud noise coming from the front of my truck. I mentioned the noise and my appraiser along with the technician determined that it was a brake issue and told me to take it to a dealership and it was not accident related. So I took that advice and went straight to the dealership at which i found out it was not a brake issue, it was my driver's front wheel that was loose and almost fell off. 😬!!!! Im convinced that either my wheel was taken off for the repairs or it was accident related. Which concerns me, for a few reasons 1 . I could have been seriously hurt had the wheel fell off 2. Someone else could have been seriously hurt had it fell off and flew into another driver 3 hearing that noise and not thinking "let us make sure the wheel is tight and not the issue" instead of convincing me that it was a brake issue and sending me away. I had to pay a dealership to tell me that really alarms me. The dealership was also alarmed as well. This review is not a bashing review I will continue to have my repairs done at this facility in the future but also be very weary before I leave and address all safety concerns myself. As a recommendation moving forward, I would suggest all tires be check and wheels to be tightened, this may save lives and help you in the future should this happen to someone else.

Can I choose what types of parts are used on my vehicle when repaired?
You, as the vehicle owner, may always choose the type of parts to be used on your vehicle. In Indiana, if your vehicle is 5 years or newer and you are going through your own insurance company, it is required by law to allow you to choose the type of parts you would like used in your repairs. This law covers any metal or plastic part that generally constitutes the exterior of the vehicle.

I received an estimate from the insurance company what should I do?
Just bring the estimate to Riley & Sons. We honor all insurance estimates, regardless of amount. We will work directly with the insurance company to document all damages and restore your vehicle to pre-accident condition. Remember, estimates are just starting points, and changes to them can be made once the vehicle is disassembled and all related damages can be seen.
Do I need more than one estimate?
No. There is no law requiring you to get more than one estimate. You only need one estimate from the place you want your vehicle repaired.
