There's another AutoZone on the other side of the street, just a bit north of this one (I don't know if both AutoZones are owned by the same owner). Also, I think there's an O'Reilly's Auto Parts in that area. Also, there's a NAPA on Roosevelt, west of Joliet St. These stores will be getting my business in the future. While attempting to change a bulb for my truck's headlight, I learned the bulb that this AutoZone's employee fetched for me a few days ago was the wrong bulb, so I had to make a second trip to get the correct bulb. Last night, this store's manager fetched the correct bulb, but without a receipt she expected me to pay for another packet of bulb grease (BTW, my returned bulb showed I had used bulb grease on the first bulb). Sure, I was a little irritated that I needed to interrupt my repair and make a second trip to the parts store. Not a big deal, they're not too far - just one town away from me. But compounding my inconvenience over an item that costs them pennies? Clearly, customer satisfaction, even when they caused the problem in the first place, is not a top priority here. Two bucks. That's what they charge for a packet of bulb grease. For $2 this manager lost this long-standing customer to that store forever.
