- BVBj VaynermanMar 17, 20261.0Sales person basically just watched me look at the camper not terribly friendly. Tried to get me to put 1k down. Said this was popular unit with lots of inquiries. Unit being sold on consignment had lots of issues. Missing an entire window allowed water inside, frayed lamination on doors, seats were badly worn, multiple broken outdoor latches, and a levelor foot that was bent like a taco. Upon sitting down to get a trade in quote, I was told that there would be a mandatory fee of about $3400. It was a package for motorhomes. I asked to opt out of that package but was told emphatically that it was mandatory. This what the "package" included: 1. Goodsam services. 2. Washing it. 3. Propane fill (no idea how much it had already left). 3. A tank of gas. 4. A walk through with a tech. None of which adds up to $3400. The salesperson got visibly agitated with my disagreements. He stated that the techs in service charge them $200 an hour. I pointed out I had been given a quote on a different Motorhome at another Camping World a week before without a mandatory fee. I even showed them the quote. They were dumbfounded. Soon one of the finance managers came over and presented me with a new quote only this time the charge was down too 1800. The asked me "so we are $1800 appart?" I said "at a minimum." They then attempted to get me to put down 1k. If I did that they would contact the seller and ask them to drop price. At that point I left. This felt extremely manipulative and unethical. After thinking about the shape that unit was in I could not trust that the rest of it did not have hidden problems. I also don't believe that Camping World would stand behind it.
