  DEREK IS THE MAN! If you need a mechanic in the Peoria area, go to Peterson Automotive. My husband's car had a major oil consumption issue that the dealership supposedly fixed last year for $2,000. It did not work. When the same problem came back, they had the nerve to quote us over $10,000 for a new engine, even though it was the same issue. I was done. I emailed several local shops and Derek was the fastest to get back to me. He was the friendliest and most knowledgeable person I talked to. What really made Derek stand out is how much you can actually trust him. I specifically asked him to inspect the old engine because I wanted to see what the dealership had missed. He followed through and even took photos and videos of the inside for me. He found heavy pitting in the cylinders and piston scrapes. This was the physical proof I needed to show that the dealership's original $2,000 repair was useless. He made sure I had all the evidence I needed. It is so hard to find a mechanic who is this honest and skilled. Derek is fast, fair, and treats you with respect. Our car is finally back on the road and running perfectly. I am completely done with the dealership and will only be taking my vehicles to Derek from now on. Go to Peterson Automotive if you want the job done right.

  We’ve always had good luck with Petersons. I dropped my grandson’s car off on a Sunday night. They had a look at it Monday morning and the price was very reasonable and they had it ready by Tuesday afternoon.

  Brad Peterson and crew are excellent...Have known Brad for 25+ years and he has helped me and my family out more than once. He has tackled everything from classic car work for me, to modern stuff. I've never taken a diesel in as I don't own one. Honest, sincere, and as said by others, hard working. Great quality work.
