- RMRussell Martin4 days ago1.0I recently purchased a triple square set from this store and asked Tony Aguilar if they had any smaller options, since I really only needed one bit and not the 8 piece set. He didn’t really look up from his computer and told me that what was on display was all they had. I ended up buying the set for $60, but later realized the bits were too long to fit the tight space I needed them for. When I came back to return it, the interaction was frustrating. Tony made several comments about the packaging being open, seemed visibly annoyed, and at one point tossed my receipt across the counter. Overall, it felt like a very unprofessional way to handle a simple return, and there wasn’t much effort to help find a solution. Because of this experience, I’ll likely just order the part I need off Amazon and avoid advance auto in the future.

Last night I went in for a tail light and one of the employees (David) offered to replace it for me while I was there. As we were walking out to my car, I dropped my cash on the ground and had zero clue😩 David found it, picked it up and handed it right back to me. He fixed my tail light and was very polite and professional. Thank you David ans Advanced Auto Parts for always exceeding my expectations 🙌🏼

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
