I came in the other day to get some wipers and a battery replacement, I have little to no knowledge on cars but wow the customer service here was great! The young man with the colored hair was especially helpful, I believe his name was Jr, he was such a sweet young man and so helpful in explaining what he was doing so I know what to ask for next time. Definitely recommend this store and who to go to for future help!!

An extremely strange and uncomfortable experience.
I went in to buy windshield wipers. I don’t know much about cars, but every time I’ve been to AutoZone in the past, the staff has always been helpful and friendly. This visit started out the same, until I was told the only wipers that would fit my car were $36 each. I paused because I clearly remembered paying much less for wipers the last time I purchased them for this car.
I needed wipers immediately, so I went ahead and bought them anyway. The total came to about $85. I then asked if the employee could help install them, and he responded with “yeah, I guess.” I mentioned that I would tip him for helping.
The wipers didn’t fit.
He asked if he had given me the receipt, which he had, and then went back and forth with coworkers trying to figure out why they weren’t working. They brought out another set, which also didn’t fit. I was then told my wipers must be from a dealership because they had “never seen anything like this before.” I explained that the last time I bought wipers, it was at AutoZone. I’ve never been to a dealership to fix my car and the car is used.
At that point, the employees stopped communicating with me and began talking amongst themselves while picking out different wipers. I had to walk over and ask what was happening. They said they thought it was a different wiper and tested yet another set. They came in explaining that it went on but didn’t clip.
Then the situation became deeply unsettling. Half the staff disappeared, and eventually the store was completely empty with only 2 employees and me. When I asked how much the wipers they had just put on my car cost, I was told “I don’t know.” The two employees walked away to the wiper aisle to check and never came back. I was left alone in a silent store with no explanation of what was happening, which was extremely uncomfortable and honestly scary.
Only after I raised my voice and said I didn’t want to continue and wanted my money back so I could leave did the original employee suddenly reappear. From behind the counter, not from the wiper aisle. His attitude had completely changed. He was short and irritated and dismissed the situation by saying things like “well, it’s cold,” implying the problem was somehow my fault? Or the weathers fault?
He refunded my money, complained that the cold had broken my old wipers, and ended up giving me the new wipers for free. That did not make the experience feel any better.
I will never return to this location. As a single woman, this experience felt disorganized, dismissive, and genuinely creepy, and it left me feeling unsafe rather than helped.
Thanks for the free wipers and the unsettling experience. I will never return to this auto zone because of it.
