FAIL - As a seasoned commercial driver with 45 years behind the wheel, I know Illinois commercial vehicle inspection standards inside out—brakes and tires must meet clear, objective criteria for safe operation, not serve as upsell opportunities. Took my rig to a local Mavis location for a routine inspection, fully expecting a professional, by-the-book evaluation. Instead, the inspector refused to pass it, vaguely citing "issues" with tires and brakes—yet offered no specific measurements or documented failures against state regs. The not-so-subtle hint? Only new tires and brakes (conveniently sold on-site) would magically make it roadworthy. Sounded less like safety enforcement and more like a high-pressure sales pitch. With a quick drive to an independent shop that focuses on inspections (not pushing parts), the vehicle sailed through without a hitch. Funny how that works—apparently, the specs change depending on whether you're buying! This isn't just frustrating; it's disappointing from a chain with a history of scrutiny. Mavis has faced serious allegations and settlements over the years, including: Ongoing wrongful death lawsuits tied to the tragic 2018 Schoharie limo crash, with claims that employees misrepresented or covered up brake defects (resulting in some multimillion-dollar settlements). A $2.1 million EEOC settlement for systemic sex discrimination in hiring. Settlements with states like Georgia for deceptive practices, such as recommending unnecessary repairs, selling used parts as new, and other consumer protection violations. If you're getting your commercial vehicle inspected, do yourself a favor: choose a shop that prioritizes compliance over commissions. Has anyone else encountered similar "inspection theater" at chains like this? What's your go-to spot for no-nonsense commercial inspections in the area? Stay safe out there!

Pete and Ashton are always so helpful. I went in for a routine oil change. They always communicate the status of my vehicle when I take it in for servicing and provide great customer service.

Wonderful help with communicating with me about how my vehicle was doing throughout the process. Kyle especially was a great help and highly recommend going to this location for car services and having him inspect and work on the vehicle. Thank you so much Kyle for recommending and helping me, definitely will be returning. 10/10 service
