My battery on my car died this morning and wouldnt jump with the aid of another car but was able to use a jump starter kit so i could get it to Advance Auto. As soon as i arrived, one of their employees seemed very uninterested and i asked about having a battery in stock, he tested the battery with their equipment and told me my starter was the issue. Fast forward 2 hours and i find out he lied so he wouldnt have to change it for me on a 90 degree day. The reason i know this is because after i get a hold of a local mechanic i know and he is able to check it out, he tells me that i should try out Autozone and have them test it because he was fairly certain my battery was the culprit. I ran over to Autozone and they were the most helpful and friendly employees. They use the same equipment as Advance Auto to test my battery and DING DING DING, I need a new battery. Autozone, you have gained a loyal customer, i will never be going to Advance Auto again.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
