I think that this machine is very ridiculous and unnecessary and could cause an accident we are not allowed to text and drive but we are to take our eyes off the road because of the machine takes picks how many minutes it wants to go in between to let you blow into it with a decaying bone jaw and a blood vessel that has to have surgery that could cause you to go blind or just burst. Not everybody is Rich not everybody fails the test some people actually get their life together and I feel that this machine is very unnecessary and I could be using the money that I'm having to pay for it to actually have food in my house. The intellect people have been very courteous I get that but I have medical issues that I could be taken care of and food that I could be buying so I don't have to go to The Pantry all the time just to be able to have peanut butter or a piece of meat. I feel that Illinois's interlock Bay machine program is greedy and needs to be redone and thought about when people have over a certain amount of years of sobriety they should not have to even be bothered with this but be blessed because they have proven their self to be an overcomer. And the year should be way less especially when the counselors doing the update are teaching maaa in our alcoholics themselves at practicing alcoholics. This whole thing is very biased and I feel there's just another way for Illinois to keep money in their pockets to pay their debts that they caused. I had 11 years and a half of sobriety have no desire to ever drink again not just because it's machine but because of what I see it does to the body which makes big Pharma even more richer on top of destroying families and relationships. Horrible. Have to blow in the device really hard and it kept draining my battery because it constantly pulls from the battery. I had to buy a brand new one. Nobody tells you these things before you go. I was told they would waive a fee that they didn't. All in all I wouldn't recommend them at all

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle.
