Gareth at the Jacksonville, IL, store was amazing! My brake light was coming on and he added brake fluid to my van. I work in home health and was far from my mechanic. Very thankful for the 5 star help from Gareth!

Would give a 0/5 if I could. Something is wrong with my steering wheel, all buttons quit working, and all my warning lights are on except for check engine. So I go in because everyone recommended that I go there to get computer code reading before going to a body shop. I walk in and ask (no customers in store besides me) I ask the guy if he could do that , he asks, “is your check engine light on” I said no but literally every other one is, he goes “did you see the sign” and walks me around a corner and points at it, “no check engine light, not helping” then I begin to ask a question and first word out of my mouth he starts shaking his head no and motions me to leave. Dude looked like a 60 year old roided out Mr. T with his little Mohawk hair down the middle of his bald head. I get that it is store policy, I didn’t know it was, but the way he treated me was disgusting, that is the guy you have at the register helping customers? The guy clearly hates his life and should be fired for his massive disrespectful treatment of customers. I’ll never shop there again and I advise everyone else to go elsewhere also

Recently, I visited my daughter in Jacksonville IL and found her 2003 Honda Pilot would not start as I was about to leave. All garages were closed. I could not go home to Chicago until we left her with a running car and it was getting late. I found that the battery cable would come off no matter how hard I tried to tighten it. I went to Autozone where explained the issue, and a wonderful employee named Dakota, showed me how to install "Battery Shims". Problem solved, but then as drove away I heard clunking, not related to the battery cable. Turns out the strut a shop had recently installed had come loose. DAKOTA let me borrow a tool and assisted me in fixing that issue, so I could feel I left my daughter with a safe car running car. I hope AutoZone can find more wonderful employees like Dakota. Thank you Autozone and thank you Dakota!
