Only neg was waiting an hour after appt time on drop off and pickup. Finance dept miss spelled our name so they had a hard time finding warranty information.
Repair bays are kept clean and neat. Unit was cleaned before pickup. Tech communicated what the problem was thoroughly and repair was done correctly.

If I could leave negative stars I would.
Very poor experience, should have never purchased from General RV Huntley.
We purchased a brand new 2025 Fleetwood Bounder nearly 3 months ago. On the day we picked it up 2 small issues were found in the walk through. They told us to take it for our pre planned weekend trip and to schedule an appointment after for any warranty items found. We did just that and arrived on time for the appointment but soon found that's where our experience with General RV all goes bad. It's now been months and it is still not fixed. Missed the entire end of the camping season. I've requested a call from management several times and no one calls you back.

I recently bought my camper at General RV, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. David Karpelenia was my sales representative, and he made the process incredibly smooth. He was knowledgeable about every model I looked at, answered all my questions without pressure, and took the time to make sure I found the right fit for my needs. The communication was consistent, the pricing was straightforward, and the final walkthrough was thorough. I left feeling confident about my purchase and well taken care of. Five stars all around.

I brought my RV in because they damaged the siding during transport when I purchased it.
When I showed up for my scheduled appointment they had no idea why I was there. They literally scheduled it and still acted clueless. I was told by the service advisor that they would call me by the end of the week with an update.
Second week goes by before I hear anything. I even called in after a week to check in. I was told that it would be done in about two weeks. I made it clear I wasn’t in a rush and was totally fine waiting longer as long as they communicated.
A week later I'm being told I need to pay to have it winterized… after it sat on their lot, for damage they caused. Asking me to pay out-of-pocket for something only necessary because they held onto it longer than expected
Then I get told it'll be ready on a certain day... I clear my schedule and it wasn’t ready. I had to call again to find out what was going on, and now I'm clearing my schedule twice because of their lack of communication. They tell me it’ll be ready by the end of the next day. Once again, I emphasize that I'm not in a hurry as I don't want a rushed job.
On the day, I show up, and then sit around for 20 minutes because they “couldn't get it out of the bay” since they parked a dead motor coach in the way. Then another 20 minutes wasted.
And surprise, they didn't complete the work. They failed to replace one of the decals that was on the paneling.
Then I get it home and realize the most infuriating part:
My RV was covered in metal shavings. In the sink, on shelves, on the linens, everywhere. What upsets me is I specifically asked before I dropped it off if I needed to prep anything inside and was told no, because “all the work is exterior.”
So now I’m cleaning my RV three times to get shards of metal out of everything, and not to mention got metal splinters doing it. This wasn't just laziness; it was careless and unsafe.
Bottom line:
General RV Huntley's service department doesn’t communicate, doesn't care about the details, doesn't respect your time, and clearly doesn't care about the condition your RV is returned in.
If you enjoy being ignored, rescheduling your life around other people’s incompetence, and finding metal shavings in your bed after “service,” this is the place for you.
Otherwise, go literally anywhere else.
It's hard to write this review because the sales department, when I bought the RV, was great but, with that, don't by the essentials package because it came with 50amp supplies when my RV is a 30 amp. Upon inquiring, they said they couldn't do anything about it because, "that's just how it's packed".....

Review of 2025 Coachmen Clipper & General RV – Huntley, IL
I purchased a 2025 Coachmen Clipper Travel Trailer 12000ROK in late August/early September through General RV online. The purchase and delivery went smoothly, and I had a month-long road trip planned starting on 9/20, heading west.
Unfortunately, just a few days into the trip, after reaching Kansas, the trailer experienced a serious malfunction: the trailer brakes, brake lights, turn signals, and some running lights stopped working completely. Being in the middle of nowhere, we called General RV's service department for help — only to be told the nearest service center was back home in Huntley, IL, hundreds of miles away. This forced us to drive back cross-country with an unsafe, non-road-legal trailer, a major safety hazard.
After returning, I contacted my internet sales rep, Shannon Lowe, but received no response. We called the service department daily and were finally connected with their lead service advisor, Justin Sasman, on 9/26 after days of phone tag. I dropped off the trailer at their location on Saturday, 9/27, calling multiple times that day to notify them the unit was outside with the keys — again, no return calls.
When I eventually reached someone, I was told the manager was unavailable because he was "putting out another fire." Finally, a service manager called at 4 PM that day, and I had to repeat the entire story again. On Monday 9/29, I received an email from Justin confirming a work order had been created.
After several follow-ups and delays, I finally received confirmation on Oct 6 that the repairs were "complete." I scheduled an inspection for Oct 10 at 10 AM — but upon arrival, the trailer was not in a bay, nor was it ready for inspection.
I raised concerns about the work order and asked to speak to a manager about compensation for the lost trip, wasted time, and the financial impact (I had taken the full month off work for this planned journey). I spoke with Thomas and another service manager, who told me their only responsibility was to fix the problem — and that any other concerns needed to be taken up with the manufacturer.
When I voiced that I still didn’t feel confident the trailer was safe, their dismissive response was:
“Your name is on the trailer, and we’ll just put it on the street.”
Summary:
18 days from breakdown to alleged repair
Extremely poor communication
Lack of ownership or accountability
Unprofessional customer service
No support post-sale — once you buy, you're on your own
This has been the most unprofessional experience I’ve had with any business. I strongly urge anyone considering General RV — especially the Huntley, IL location — to think twice before buying. They may sell you the unit, but they do not stand behind it.
