  Formal Complaint Regarding Genesis of Highland Park 490 Skokie Valley Rd, Highland Park, IL 60035 I am submitting this formal complaint to document a serious issue with Genesis of Highland Park. On August 8, 2025, I traded in my 2022 Genesis GV80 Prestige 3.5T at their dealership as part of the purchase of a new 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe MHEV. As part of the transaction, the dealership explicitly agreed to pay off the remaining loan balance on my trade-in vehicle, which was financed through Navy Federal Credit Union. Despite repeated assurances from dealership staff that the loan payoff had been processed, the account remained unpaid for an extended period. As a result, I received a missed payment notice and was forced to continue making payments on a vehicle I no longer owned, while simultaneously paying the loan on my new vehicle. This caused significant financial hardship and disrupted my ability to meet other essential obligations. More than a month passed without resolution. When the dealership finally sent the payoff check, the bank refunded my overpayments but charged me for the interest that had accrued. I explained to the bank that the delay was not my fault, but they placed responsibility on the dealership. When I contacted the dealership for reimbursement of the interest charges, they in turn blamed the bank. Both parties refused accountability, leaving me caught in the middle and ultimately losing money. I am deeply upset and dissatisfied with how I was treated, especially considering that I purchased one of the most expensive vehicles available at this dealership. To make matters worse, I was recently contacted by the individual who purchased my former vehicle. They informed me that they too had been misled and deceived by Genesis of Highland Park during their transaction. This demonstrates a troubling pattern of misconduct and raises serious concerns about the dealership’s practices.

  Helped facilitate the purchase of a car for my sister since there was more availability in the Chicagoland area. Found a great car at Gregory Genesis with a clean CarFax that was within budget; the salesperson was fantastic to work with. However, within a half hour of driving the car off the lot, it began throwing a "blindspot collision warning" error. We were assured by Gregory Genesis that the issue would be taken care of -- long story short, after taking the car to get checked out at an independent shop, it turns out the car was fairly obviously in an accident and the quote to have everything repaired was over $5,000. Gregory Genesis subsequently refused to do anything to rectify the situation other than to offer to purchase the car back with us eating a 10% "restocking fee". I've purchased numerous cars both new and used, from Hondas, Mazdas, BMWs, Audis etc, and the experience my family has had with Gregory Genesis has by FAR been the worst experience when it's come to purchasing a vehicle.

  Great sales experience with no pressure, just information. Excellent explanation of the features of the different styles of the car I was interested in. Easy to understand my options. The G80 is an outstanding car that has a lot of power and is also very luxurious. It drives beautifully. The dealership is immaculate and the entire staff was so friendly and helpful. Overall, this was the best car buying experience I’ve had.
