The service is great. Store is clean and will organized. But quite often when you are looking for a particular part the lower cost options that are listed are not in stock or available. Why keep listing it if you don't have it

First time at this store. I walk in, no other customers in the store, 2 employees standing at the register. I walk toward the registers and not one says hello, good afternoon... nothing. While I was waiting for the guy to get the part I ordered a person walks in and they said good morning and what's up to him. I guess they knew him. So, the message I got is if you're a customer and they don't know you they say nothing. You should greet every customer. That's rude. It's also rude that they just hand me the receipt without a thank you. It seems to be bad customer service nearly every place you shop these days. What happened to customer service? All I ask is for a hello and a thank you. Which I didn't get here either. A business is nothing without the customers. You don't have a business or a job without customers coming through your doors... which I won' being doing at AAP anymore. Hopes this helps you with your customer service skills in the future. UPDATE - It's funny (and sad) how after you post your review that they reply saying sorry for the problem and they will make it better. But when you go back to these places, in the future, that gave bad service (giving them another chance) nothing has changed. Same bad service. They only reply saying sorry to make it appear that they care. Saying sorry involves solving the problem and making change for the better.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
