Rented a car from here on Friday morning (day after Thanksgiving) for 7:30am pick up. Arrived a bit after 8 (since they are typically running behind) and still needed to wait for my car to be washed and vacuumed, on my arrival. Car was wet so agent mentioned that we "shouldn't" see any cracks or dings that aren't already documented, once the car dries.
Taking the car for a 6 hour drive, a few states over. Stopped at a gas station then could not turn the car back on. Initially thought it was the key fob. Tried tapping to push to start button, still nothing. Was able to get a jump start from a local and car started. Finally make it to my destination and car died again and needed to be jump started once more, so I parked it. After the first encounter, I text the phone number that says "reply to this message if you need any assistance during your rental." No response for hours. Texted again and received a message that the branch is closed. Called roadside after 7pm and they told me that due to the time of night, I could have a new car brought to me tomorrow and the disable car picked up, but no drivers were available during the night.
Received a call from two different towing agencies saying they were en route. Car was picked up at 8am. It is currently after 2pm and I have yet to receive the car or a call back from the local branch. Roadside first stated that the initial branch was closed, so the driver needed to go to the airport branch, which is 1.5 hrs away from me. 2 hours later, I called again and they said the car was picked up and will be there shortly. Called again after 2 more hours and now they can't get in touch with the tow driver. So my morning and days plans have been cancelled, since I've been waiting for 6 hours for a car. Customer service has not been helpful, and I am 6 hours away from home, still with no car.
Save yourself and use the few extra minutes and drive to the airport for a rental.
I have rented from Enterprise and other agencies for over 15 years. The car having mechanical issues has happened to me before and is an inconvenience, but the customer service and lack of communication is absolutely unacceptable. I am paying for a rental car for 3 days, only to have it functional for 8 hours.
