My car was at this repair shop for a month. What a waste of time waiting. I'm so disappointed that the repair work tore the leather on my seat, some paint is peeling off, and the trunk isn't working properly.

They were courteous and respectful. They said they installed my broken parts just to call me a week later to tell me they forgot to put on a part!

I had an accident needing a whole new bumper, new grill and repair to my hood as well. I was nervous to go here after some of the reviews written lately but there has been a restructuring with the management and staff so I decided to give them a try because of the Gerber reputation with satisfaction guarantee and how close they were to my home. The management team and staff there has been very helpful in the recent weeks. I am super pleased with the final results and the professionalism from them including Israel, Bill & Matt. Everyone inside was also great. The job was finished before predicted and was done very well. There was a slight defect with one of the clips that holds the bumper (almost unnoticeable) however, I informed them and they ordered a new part and replaced it as soon as it came in. No hassles, no issues. Overall, a very good experience

I brought my 2024 Lexus TX to the Irving Park Gerber Collision & Glass location in early September for repairs to the front and rear passenger-side doors and the rear quarter-panel area. They initially kept the vehicle for about a week and a half, and even longer because they apparently had trouble reassembling and calibrating the vehicle. After putting it back together, all the dashboard lights came on, and they had to wait through the weekend for someone to come out and recalibrate it. I wasn’t too concerned about the extra time since I had a rental, and I just wanted the repairs done properly. When I picked the vehicle up the first time, during the inspection I noticed some odd marks on the repaired area—almost like marker or tape residue—that they had to buff out before I left. I also now realize that some of the actual damage wasn’t obvious at the time because there was a thin layer of road debris and dirt on the bumper. Even though they said they had washed the vehicle before I picked it up, certain areas still had dirty spots that blended in with the repairs, which made it harder to see the issues clearly. At the time, I assumed it was just dirt from the test drive, but looking back, it didn’t make sense for the car to be both “washed” and still dirty. About a week later, when I finally had time to inspect everything closely, I noticed the rear bumper was popping out. The clip behind the bumper was visibly broken. The paint between the bumper and the quarter panel was chipping, and another lower panel on the quarter panel also had chipped paint. I brought the car back and showed them the problems. They said they’d order the part needed. When they later called and told me to come in on a Monday, I arrived only to find out I wasn’t on their schedule, and the part they ordered had gone missing. They had to reorder it, and I had to reopen the claim with State Farm because the paint damage required additional repairs. Once the part finally arrived, I brought the vehicle back again. They reattached the bumper, but it felt like a temporary fix—there was no proper movement, and it seemed forced into place. None of the paint issues were addressed. Worse, there was now a new door ding on the rear passenger door—the same door they had already repaired. Their “fix” left the vehicle in worse condition than before. This would have been the third time leaving my vehicle with them, and I no longer felt comfortable. State Farm had already told me that if issues continued, they could tow the vehicle to a different shop. I spoke with the manager, who explained that the entire staff from the time of my initial repair was no longer there, but that didn’t excuse the complete lack of communication or process. Every time I called, no one knew the status of my vehicle. They had no tracking system for open issues, parts, or follow-up repairs. Ultimately, I worked with State Farm to move the repair to another Gerber location—Elmhurst—where everything was finally resolved correctly and professionally. I chose Gerber because I’ve used them before and they’re widely recommended by insurance companies, but this Irving Park location was by far the worst experience I’ve had with any auto body shop. The quality of work, communication, and customer service were extremely poor. Even the lobby reflects the lack of pride and professionalism. The carpet is always dirty—exactly the same (or worse) from the day you drop off your car to the day you pick it up. They don’t clean or maintain their waiting area at all. Compared to other Gerber locations that keep their facilities clean and presentable, this one looks neglected and unprofessional. I waited to write this review until the entire situation was fully resolved. Today is November 21st, and I finally picked up my vehicle—properly repaired—from Gerber Collision in Elmhurst. Only now that everything is complete can I fairly say: I would not recommend the Irving Park Gerber Collision & Glass location.
