  I am beyond frustrated with the service I received at this South Loop location. I took my 2016 Audi Q3 in for what should have been a routine visit to replace the engine air filter, but it turned into a costly nightmare. I’ve been a loyal Valvoline customer for Newley a decade but after this I will never go to another location ever again. The technician used a power drill to remove and reinstall the engine air filter housing. For anyone who knows basic vehicle maintenance, using high-torque power tools on plastic housing components is a massive red flag. The technician cracked the housing. When I brought this to the management's attention, they completely refused to take accountability. Their excuse? They claimed that after "reviewing the recordings," they couldn't see the exact moment the crack occurred. This is a classic "not our problem" brush-off for damage that was clearly caused by their improper tool use and lack of care. If the housing was already cracked they would not have been able to remove the old filter as the filter box would not have been able to come off due to the stripped threads. If you value your vehicle, especially if you drive a German car with specific torque requirements, do not trust this location. They prioritize speed over proper technique and will leave you footing the bill for their mistakes. Save yourself the headache and go to a shop that actually respects your property and uses the right tools for the job to avoid a $500 costly repair. Avoid this place at all costs.

  My experience at Valvoline was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. The service was painfully slow with no sense of urgency whatsoever. What should have been a quick stop turned into a long, unnecessary wait. The staff appeared disorganized and inefficient. There was little to no communication about the delays, and no accurate estimate of how long the wait would be. For a company that markets itself around speed and convenience, this was completely misleading. Even worse, employees’ vehicles were blocking the exit. Once you drive in, you are effectively trapped with no way to leave, even if you decide you don’t want to continue waiting. That is not just inconvenient — it is completely unacceptable. Customers should never be put in a position where they are forced to stay because there is physically no way out. This experience showed a serious lack of management, planning, and basic customer consideration. I will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others before choosing this location.

  The staff wasn’t thorough with the service, and I wasn’t informed about basic maintenance needs like vent replacements. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and rushed. One worker even arrived speeding through the lot, blasting music as he drove past the waiting cars. What made the situation worse was an unexpected added fee. The technician explained that this new charge applies to anyone receiving more than four quarts of oil, but it wasn’t communicated upfront.
