I rented a car from SIXT Car Rental at the South Loop location for 16 days, and the experience was smooth and exceptional from start to finish. The pickup process was quick and hassle-free, and I was allocated exactly the car I had booked. The vehicle was in pristine condition—clean, well-maintained, and comfortable.
Throughout the trip, the car performed perfectly. During the journey, I received a low engine oil warning, so I contacted customer care. They guided me to get the oil changed and advised me to keep the original invoice. When I returned the car, I showed the invoice to the dealership, and the reimbursement was handled smoothly and without any issues.
Overall, it was a stress-free and professional experience. I highly recommend the SIXT South Loop location and would definitely rent from them again.

Had a bad experience with them, rented a car about a week in advance, come day of pick up they said the car I wanted wasn't available and I had to settle for something $120 more expensive than what I booked. Because when signing I had "agreed to a similar vehicle if the one I wanted wasn't available" which also apparently means I had agreed to pay whatever price they quote at the time of pickup. Unfortunately, I already had a hotel booked at my destination and wasn't in a position to shop around last minute otherwise I would have. This is price gouging and wholly unethical. What's possibly worse is the car (although in the luxury category) hardly had a functioning Bluetooth audio system which kind of makes for a terrible, music-less, soulless road trip.
That was my second experience renting at this location. The first time they also charged me at pick up time for the gas refill even though I explicitly said no to that. Thankfully they refunded me after my passenger noticed and spoke up. I tried to chalk it up to an honest mistake but after my most recent experience I have to believe these are deliberate tactic to nickel and dime unsuspecting customers.
Will not be coming back and would advise anyone looking to rent from them to be extremely cautious and analyze receipts closely.
