  It was truly disappointing, I don't recommend it. I'm from Mexico and I booked a car for my trip to Chicago about a month ago. Everything was fine with the reservation, but when I arrived to pick up the car it was a nightmare: additional requirements that made no sense, the manager was completely clueless and didn't help me at all. In the end, I couldn't get the car, and now I'm trying to get my money back, but it's a nightmare because now the agency says they have the car ready, but due to Sixt's internal policies, I can't pick it up. I switched to Budget Car Rental and the difference was night and day: in less than 10 minutes I was already driving my rental car without any problems.

  Extremely Disappointed A Stressful and Frustrating Experience We had a reservation with Sixt made over a month in advance, expecting a smooth and professional process. Unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare. Upon arrival, we were hit with unexpected and unreasonable requirements that had never been mentioned before, not in the booking confirmation, not in any follow-up communication. The staff and the manager were unhelpful and dismissive, and the entire process was stress ful. This happened on Sunday 28th afternoon. We felt blindsided and completely let down. After wasting time and energy trying to resolve the situation, we walked over to Budget/Avis, where we were treated with kindness, efficiency, and professionalism. Within minutes, we had a car and peace of mind. Sixt turned what should have been a simple pickup into a major source of stress. I would not recommend them based on this experience.

  Currently renting a BMW X3 from them. Staff member William was both very funny and professional. He provided great service and was able to get me in the car within minutes of arriving. The car is very clean and new. We are really enjoying driving it this week. Would recommend SIXT in Lincoln Park.

  I rented a BMW x5, when I was in the office I asked the manager what the condition of the car was - mileage, year, cleanliness. He said year and mileage. When I went to pick up the car, and you have to understand that the car pick-up is on the 7th floor of the open parking lot, I saw that the car was very dirty outside and inside. I found a sixt worker there in the parking lot, who told me that the car wash was broken, where they wash cars, and that's why it's in such a condition and there are no other options, and suggested that I pick up the car and go back to the office on the first floor. When I returned to the office, the same manager was not surprised and simply told me that it was normal; because it's cold now and the car wash is not working. At the same time, they don't have a replacement for another car now, the second x5 was in exactly the same condition. After I started to explain my position , that it is not normal and this is not sixt level , the second manager offered to replace it with another brand, they started to find out if it was clean or not - it was also dirty. The level of service was terrible, the manager's attitude shocked me when he said that it was normal and that it was none of his business. Because of such a dirty car, I didn't even have the opportunity to look at it for damage, because it was impossible. It all ended with the second manager giving me a 20% discount so that I could come in and wash the car right away. I recommend that everyone be prepared for such a terrible level of service. Moreover, when I left, I realized that the washer fluid in the tank had frozen, because I couldn't even wash the glass.

  Do not use this service—it’s impossible to actually talk to a human and get through the chat automation at the start of the calls. If you’re looking for superior car rental service, use BUDGET/HERTZ in lakeview. Love them so much!! Good Humans helping other good humans is what the US and Chicago want nowwwww. I will never again use a company that values real human interaction so little. These new dime a dozen tech companies need to goooooo away.
