  Language from their reservation email/website… “At Penske, we guarantee that a vehicle will be available at the time and location you selected.” I reserved 4 days ahead of time, and when I got there… no trucks AT ALL. I feel bad for the people at Clark & Devon hardware - they’re excellent people (my fav hardware store). They said Penske didn’t bring them any trucks, and they did that to 5 people the day before, and it puts them in a really bad spot. Penske doesn’t seem to realize that having a truck ON TIME is critical for your 4 hour move-in window when you pay $300 “move in fee” to reserve a freight elevator. Penske’a solution was “we’ll get a truck en route to that location, but we can’t guarantee how long it will take, probably an hour or so, no guarantees tho” - or - “you can drive an hour to Palatine to pick up a truck yourself” (and they charge you by the mile). When I called customer service to ask why they had no rental for me, their excuse was “these are really hard to get”. THEN DON’T GUARANTEE YOU’LL HAVE IT! Sadly, it sounds like this is the norm for Penske. I wouldn’t risk it with these guys on move in day. Luckily, I found a van at the Home Depot - they were great. And they have unlimited miles.

  Located inside Clark Devon Hardware and open the same hours. Friendly staff. Make the reservation thru Penske, pick up at Clark Devon Hardware. They also have moving boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etc.
