Recently rented a vehicle from Chicago O'Hara. I was lied to about the type of vehicle I would get. I had rented a premium SUV. I asked for an Expedition Max. (I know they can't guarantee the car as I used to work for the company.) however at the counter I asked them to check if they had the Expedition, I was told yes. We go put to get our vehicle and I am offer led a Wagoneer. I am highly upset at this point after working and traveling all day. I was eventually told they could void my transaction and I could go somewhere else. Well I still would not get my money back instantly which Manager Tyler said I would get it back. That is a lie. We ended up getting a Suburban. They ended up attempting to rectifying the situation. Very disappointing experience.

I rented a car at the Chicago airport National car rental and had one of the worst customer service experiences ever. Their staff gave me the wrong car — a higher-value one — and I had no idea. It was already past midnight, and we were about to leave when someone suddenly stopped us at the gate and called a manager (I believe his name was Jeremy).
From the moment he arrived, the manager was extremely rude. His very first sentence was to tell us to get out of the car, with zero apology and no explanation about what was happening. We were then forced to stay there dealing with this issue for almost four hours, until 4 AM. At one point he even mocked us for using points to book the car, which was completely unprofessional and unnecessary.
We were exhausted, frustrated, and felt completely disrespected. Even though it wasn’t our fault, we were forced to unload everything and switch to another car just so we could finally leave. The whole night was ruined.
Please avoid this location. There are plenty of other rental companies at the airport that won’t treat you this way.

⭐ 1 star(would give 0 star if I could) – Shockingly rude manager and terrible experience
I booked a premium car through Chase points, checked in, and was assigned a premium SUV by the staff. But at the gate, a worker stopped us and called the manager—who showed up instantly rude and condescending. His first comment was basically mocking us for using points, as if we were “less” than other customers. Then he kicked us out of the car and forced us into a downgrade with a nasty attitude the entire time.
We arrived at 12 AM and didn’t get out until almost 4 AM because of his behavior.
I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully at any rental company.
Avoid this National location at all costs.

Absolutley horrible, I arrived at National Car Rental at O'Hare Airport last Monday November 10th around 10:45AM only to stand in a line of 30-40 customers for about 20 minutes because you had no cars ready. As people were returning rentals, new customer quickly took those cars.
I was given an excuse about a football game and I am getting fed up with your excuses! As an Executive Elite customer this is unacceptable, same thing in Richmond airport.
Then I get pushback on requesting an Executive SUV as I'm told they are being held for other customers, apparently I'm not a valued customer!
! I thought be loyal Executive Elite had some benefits.
If this happens again to me this coming Monday November 17th, I am terminating my business with National Car Rental and will vote with my dollars with another car rental company.

While I have never had an issue with National at O'Hare. However when I arrived late afternoon on Monday, November 10th, I, along with everybody else were greeted with a line that wrapped around the parking garage in to the car rental building. There were no available cars. The staff basically were grabbing cars from the returns quickly having them washed and vacuumed and would drive them up to the next person in line. It was your typical Chicago November afternoon after a small snowfall. It was cold and windy. A lot of people were not prepared for waiting 30-45 minutes in a very cold garage for a car. The picture, for reference, was taken after waiting for 10 minutes and the line continued behind me. This experience will not stop me from using National, just hoping that they can plan better for the future.
