I see they deleted my post. I will repost again to warn you all, as well as an update so it can be made known how horribly they prey on customers. In my case, a scared woman. I had my car towed in for a flat tire. A new one was all I thought I needed. This was at the Crestwood, Il location. Both the mgr. And employee tols me that I needed a ball joint and arm, clearly stating several times that my car was a safety hazard because they were in pretty bad shape. They said this several times. I belueved them and agreed to the work done. They literally just brought my car back, my mechanic friend told me to stop them immediately, they were scamming me. I tried doing so. They told me the part was already off. In less than 5 minutes???? I told them I wanted the old part back. By this point, they knew I was onto them, mind you. They agreed, but yet, I never got it back. Then, at the end, they told me my rim was a bit bent, bur not bad. They had the audacity to offer their services to repair it. I declined. While I was signing off on it, I was crying at the counter. Most recent update: last week, I spoke with Ray, the Vp of the training department in the company. After I told him what happened, his voice became very hard, he began cutting me off. He stated I agreed to the repairs, I could have gotten a second opinion at any time and he was definitely not being refunded for anything. I told him if his employees were honest and didnt use fear as a selling tool, I would have. But, when a woman, who knows nothing about cars comes in and is told several times, that a part is in bad shape and a safety hazard, what do they think I will do? He did not care one bit about any of this. He just kept cutting me off, saying I agreed, I could have walked away. THEN, he offered me a 90.00 voucher for any of their locations. Seriously???? To me, that is admission of guilt while not admitting it, and, possibly, to keep my experience quiet. Mind you, all I was asking for was a refund for the parts I did not need, and half of my days pay that was wasted. Lastly, I will add that I had my car in for service at my usual place the week before. I spoke with them after Mavis abd they stated the ball joints were checked and were fine, otherwise they would have mentioned it. To further confirm, two other professional mechanics confirmed this was not needed. Today, since I have the time: I left a written complaint with the BBB. In 40 minutes, I will be calling them. I will be posting updates on the review sites that they cannot take down, and a few other things to bring a lot of attention to these business practices.

The pricing was fair, and they even helped me find the best deal on a new set of tires. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, which made the experience even better. It’s hard to find an auto shop you can truly trust, but Mavis has definitely earned my repeat business. I highly recommend them for anyone needing tires or car service!

I recently visited Mavis Discount Tire and had a great experience from start to finish. The staff was friendly, professional, and took the time to explain exactly what my car needed without trying to upsell unnecessary services. They worked quickly but thoroughly, and I felt confident that my vehicle was in good hands.

I absolutely would not recommend using Mavis tires and Brakes for anything. Especially the location in Mundelein, Il on RTE 60. I recently took my vehicle there for brakes and have a very negative experience. 1-Waited three hours to get my brakes checked and diagnose the issues with them, even thought I had an appointment. 2-Was told that the brake pads on my front brakes were 90% gone and the back brake pads were 99% gone and that my rotors were all chewed up and my calipers were seizing up on me. I am nowhere near a car expert, but I know enough to know that this didn't seem right as the brake pads were not scrapping the rotors and the back brakes seemed to be working fin. They then proceeded to tell that I could get them all fixed and repaired that day for $1500, but it would take at least another three hours. At that point I decided to tell them to forget and I left. 3- I took to the local neighborhood mechanic who informed me that the front brakes definitely needed replacing but the back brakes were in great shape and there was absolutely no need to replace the back brake pads. Furthermore, the calipers were not seizing, and the rotors were not chewed up as the "mechanics" at Mavis in Mundelein had stated. So, this leads me to one of two conclusions. Either the mechanics at Mavis in Mundelein do not understand what they are doing and are looking at when diagnosing issues or they are not trustworthy and are looking to scare you that your car is in bad shape and that you got to make repairs ASAP. Bottom line, I won't be returning there, and I highly recommend that you don't go to the Mavis in Mundelein, Il on RTE 60 either.
