Don’t trust nothing Miguel tells you and place knows nothing of what they were talking about. Took my car for body work got it back way later than what they told me, so I had to pay for the rental out of pocket(waiting for reimbursement). Now having so many other problems that I believe they touched and didn’t properly fix. Just ask around horrible and unprofessional. Never going back and will never recommend.

My parents had a good experience here years ago, but something changed. They were so difficult to do business with throughout the entire process of a simple bumper replacement. Most notably, a Gerber technician caused an additional $1,300 worth of damage to my vehicle that the Chrysler dealership had to repair. The dealership said Gerber caused the damage, and Aaron, the manager at Gerber, accepted responsibility for it. He promised me a reimbursement and updates; it’s been weeks and no response. Now when I call them for updates, I can call 4 times in a row and no one picks up the phone at Gerber until I use *67 to hide my caller ID. Then that gets them to answer after just two rings and transfer me to Aaron who then immediately hung up on me. Stay away from this place; they do more harm to your car than good!

My experience with Gerber Collision on Huron street Chicago started off fine, but quickly turned into a very frustrating process.
I dropped off my car after a theft for repairs on two broken front windows and scratches on my passenger side doors. Chris, the service advisor, was helpful and professional at first. When I came to pick up my car, the windows looked good, but I immediately noticed my passenger door handle hadn’t been painted and still had white paste on it (my car is black). Chris admitted it was overlooked and promised to have it redone.
Then, when testing my windows, I found that the front passenger side wouldn’t work from the driver’s controls, even though it worked before the repair. Chris apologized and said they would repaint the door and also test/replace the master switch if needed.
A week later, they called saying my car was ready. When i arrived I tested all four windows, a new problem showed up — the rear passenger window would roll down, but wouldn’t roll back up. Chris tried to show me how to “press harder,” but it still didn’t work. He admitted they’d need to test the wiring, and I reminded him all of my windows worked perfectly before they replaced the switch.
Weeks went by with little to no communication. I had to keep calling them. When I finally spoke with the manager, Aaron, he told me insurance had denied the claim and basically said there was nothing he could do — that I’d have to deal with State Farm myself. When I explained again that my windows worked fine before they touched them, he brushed it off and eventually hung up on me mid-conversation.
Only after I spoke with State Farm directly (who confirmed no additional claim had ever been filed on their end) Gerber collision manager Aaron trying call me back, which felt like an attempt to backtrack after the insurer got involved.
To sum up:
Chris, the service advisor: 4 stars — polite and tried to help.
Workmanship/repairs: 2–3 stars — door handle still not painted, new window issues created, poor quality control.
Manager (Aaron): 0 stars — dismissive, unprofessional, rude and hung up on me.
What should have been a straightforward repair turned into weeks of frustration, poor communication, and extra problems that weren’t there before. I would not recommend this location.
I will update my review as my car is still at that shop since Early JULY 2025.

I cannot recommend Gerber enough! I called yesterday to schedule an appointment and within 24 hours, our repair man, Alfredo showed up at my apartment and had my broken car window fixed within an hour! Alfredo's professionalism and service was second to none and I will for sure be using Gerber for all my future window repairs. Thanks again Alfredo and the Gerber team!
