I am in Chicago for a work trip and the car I was provided with wouldn’t start. I requested maintenance at a specific time, but twice they showed up earlier than the time o requested. They then told me they would provide me with a tow truck and then an uber to pick up a replacement car. The time they told me the tow truck would arrive was 90 minutes earlier than when it actually did, which ultimately made me miss a meeting for my work trip. Horrible customer service and horrible communicators.

Traveling for business I arrived at O’Hare airport. My company paid for all expenses before hand. I approached the rental counter and was told they have a reservation but I had to pay for it. I explained my company paid the bill already. I then showed the receipt from our travel agency. I was told I still had to pay for it because they didn’t have a card “On file” Needless to say we paid for a car twice. The service in itself was good I got the car in a timely fashion and it was a nice car. The problem is obviously no one wants to pay again for a service they already paid for. I would rent from them just keep in mind if you’re traveling on business and don’t have a company credit card you will most likely have to pay on your personal credit. I assume my company will ask for a refund on the funds for the double pay of service. There should be a correction here for future actions as no one wants hang up like this during the stress of traveling.

The only issue was that it took almost 30 minutes for the associates to get their tablets to work even though I had and shown them my rental confirmation number. 3 out of 4 tablets would not recognize the confirmation number, finally the last associate was able to get her tablet to work. Also, when I returned the car at the Vandalia Ohio Enterprise, they also had issues trying to input information in their tablets that would not allow them to print me off an invoice. All total I lost approximately 50 minutes for the equipment / tablets to work.

I rent cars often from Enterprise - in fact, I rent many every hockey season. I had to leave just a 3-star rating because of the wild variability of quality and service I get depending on where I happen to be renting. As an example, over the past 4 weeks I rented a car in Raleigh and Chicago. The Chicago experience was 5-star awesome. A wonderful experience - great customer service, clean vehicle, well maintained, perfection from beginning to end. The Raleigh experience was exactly the opposite - it was a 1-star experience - terrible customer service, unfriendly staff, dirty car, poorly maintained….. So I guess enterprise is like Russian Roulette :)

I got a car during the air traffic controller/shut down Apocalypse of Nov 2025. Picture this: It's 1 am on a Sunday night, blizzard conditions outside, so many canceled and delayed flights out of Chicago that many car companies had completely run out of cars to rent because of the high demand to drive instead of fly. The wait for check in was over an hour long which was brutal, but the staff was so unbelievably kind and patient with everyone. They were doing their best with a bad situation, and I could tell they were trying to help as many people as possible. Shout out to the hard workers who had that night shift. You are all troopers! Thank you for renting me a car so I didn't have to sleep in the airport <3
