The 6201 N Clark Street in Chicago AUTOZONE is my car's therapist when in need of a part, or insight as to why an engine light comes on.
Recently stopped by to replace one of the headlights, which had gone out. I was greeted by Ann E (saw her name tag) who in no time looked up my car model, grabbed a light and out we went to the lot to install it. I was nervous about asking, but I didn't have to. 1,2,3 effortlessly, second nature easy, Ann installed that new light in a flash. I couldn't have it done without perhaps spending hours on DIY youtube vids.
I made a comment that I was impressed on how late they stay open 9pm M_Sat, 8 on Sunday and Ann told me that the Autozone on Touhy (looked it up to be 2555 West Touhy) is open 24 hours 7days/week. Now this is how you run a company, which exists to take care of its customers (new and old). To have a business post Covid19 stay open 24 hours at a time big players such as home depot, or walmart didn't go back to those hours, maybe just one store, is a commitment to a customer. Buy a part or go in and ask for a no charge diagnostic test if an engine light comes on, so you can have an idea if it is safe to drive, and what your mechanic might say, is golden. To have access 24 hours is platinum.
It is employees like Ann E and companies such as Autozone that make life, living and driving a whole lot of safe fun.
To the many drivers out there with one head light, stop by this or any Autozone and get it replaced. It's a whole lot cheaper than getting a ticket! Thank you -

I went to AutoZone to replace my car battery, but they didn’t install it properly and insisted that my alternator was the problem instead. To be sure, I took my car to the dealership, and after a full diagnostic test, they confirmed the alternator was perfectly fine — the real issue was the poorly installed battery from AutoZone. Be cautious when going there; they may sound confident, but my experience showed the opposite.

Employee Ann helped me with putting the right oil in my car when it was low so my engine wouldn't blow before getting it to the shop for an oil change. She wad helpful, knowledgeable, & very nice. Great employee. (I am a business owner who have managed staff for years, Ann's a keeper.)
Thanks again Ann for your help.

I’ll admit, I probably fit the stereotype of someone who doesn’t know much about cars. However, today I decided to take on the task of changing my own engine oil and filter for the first time. When I walked into the store, I was completely unsure of what I needed or where to begin.
Christian greeted me at the register, and when I explained that I had no idea what I was doing, he immediately offered his help. He clearly and patiently explained which oil, filter, and tools were required for the job, ensuring I had everything necessary before I left.
His professionalism and approachable manner made me feel completely at ease—something I haven’t always experienced at other auto shops. In fact, the team at this Clark Street location provided a far superior experience compared to the Touhy location. The level of customer service, attentiveness, and genuine willingness to assist here made a noticeable difference.
I truly appreciated the respectful and supportive environment created by Christian, Lucy, and Ham. Thank you all for turning what could have been an intimidating errand into a genuinely positive and empowering experience. Highly Recommend!
