    Normal human Avoid!!! Never thought I’d smell stinky tofu in Chicago… No! It smells even worse than that! Recommend for those who can’t afford to travel to try authentic stinky tofu. Here is the place you can come. Just rent a car with the lowest rate (economy class) then you would get that stinky experience. All day all night. No compensation, no vehicle replacement, only can keep the car with that smell. It added a touch of exotic charm to my trip. “Did you just go get some stinky tofu?” Hear this question from time to time. Interesting.

    I had a very disappointing experience with Alamo during my trip in Chicago. The rental car I was given had a very strong urine odor that made the entire driving experience extremely unpleasant. I immediately contacted customer service to request a vehicle exchange. The agent informed me that someone would follow up for more details, but I never received a call back, even after waiting a full day. As a result, I had to continue driving the same vehicle for the rest of the day, which significantly affected my trip experience. I am very disappointed with both the condition of the vehicle and the lack of follow-up from customer service

    I loved renting from Alamo. I got an amazing deal for 10 days for a beautiful/New Nissan Sequoia. Check—in was busy at O’Hare airport but the online check- in feature was a 2 minute process. Hassle free rental and entire staff friendly and quick to perform the rental transaction. I had my own insurance so they didn’t hassle me about their own insurance. They sent me a text with details on where/how to contact them for anything and they answered me a quick question about not having a spare tire and they also assisted me over the phone to extend my rental in less than 5 mns. Alamo is efficient and friendly! I’ve rented with Hertz before, NOTHING as professional as Alamo. Alamo does really treat their customers like real people and respectful of their business!

    We had a really frustrating experience with Alamo. Our family schedule changed last minute, and with kids involved, we needed to extend our rental—which should’ve been a simple process. We were initially quoted one price to extend, but when it came time to finalize, the cost ended up being significantly higher. It felt misleading and honestly pretty disappointing, especially when you’re already dealing with travel logistics and little ones. Transparency matters, and we didn’t feel like we got that here. I understand pricing can vary, but a drastic change from the original quote without clear explanation isn’t okay.

    First time ever using Alamo and dang, the "manager" was a jerk. Younger blonde guy working the overnight shift on his own - he refused to rent a car to me since I didn't have an exact flight date to return (I was up there for Dr's appts and wasn't sure how long I'd be there, it wasn't a personal attack) so I offered to book one there and then. He made sure to mention he could get in "trouble" for giving me the car without a flight booked 24 hrs in advance first. He informed me of the 24 hr policy, and I'd have to return in 24 hours to get the car (which would have been 2am the next day) which I agreed to, he even pointed out a hotel to wait at, but he mentioned MAYBE if I came in the morning they could give it to me earlier, depends who's working. I had forgotten the time he said so when I went back he looked at his coworker and rudely said "we're not renting to HER". In front of other customers too. Insane. Funny, because I waited at the airport until 5 am (what else could I do?) and the Alamo counter downstairs did it for me NO problem, No questions. Also, when going back up to get the car, a different Alamo worker, SUPER super nice, offered to help and after saying I'd rather not interact with the manager again, this nice man was super sorry and gave me any car of my choice. I really don't want to avoid Alamo just because of this one manager but boy was that awkward.
