- LALeigh AndersonJan 17, 20194.0My business wanted to buy a used delivery truck. Once we figured out how to navigate the Penske system, it actually turned out to be a wonderful experience. It was a little tricky at first because we wanted a specific truck and it always seemed to be "out for rental". We wanted to look at it, and test drive it, before we bought it. I guess a lot of businesses don't do that. The trick is to get past the general customer service. There's a local rep for Chicagoland, Bill, who is terrific. Bill transferred the truck to the main Penske lot. We got to drive it around their big parking lot before we bought it. The part that made it such a great buying experience compared to other places is that Penske has a huge repair and fix -it shop on site. So they tuned up or repaired (or replaced if something was broken - like the seat belts) everything on the truck, top to bottom. We had 10 little requests and they did everything. I don't think I could have found someone local to have made all of those little updates. It really made for a pleasant buying experience. The only reason I gave Penske 4 stars and not 5 was because we wasted a month trying to get to see the particular truck using general customer service. Once Bill got involved, it was smooth sailing (or truck driving in our case.) I would buy from them again.
