Went in to have battery checked, Omar an AZ employee said that my battery was bad, unknown to AZ was it was a brand new battery ( purchased from dealer 2 hrs earlier ,along with the installation of a new starter and alternator) . Was told by a few friends and a relative that they too were sold a battery after being told that their battery was bad, only to find out later that the alternator was bad. And since they take your old battery ( with the fee b.s. policy on batteries) there is no way to prove that the old one was good, since they " recycle" them.... I'm curious, of all the customers that have had their batteries checked how many are deemed good? These practices should be investgated by not only a consumer agency, BBB, but the news media and as a producer of a news outlet, I'll be sure to take the point on this one. Class action lawsuit and investigation on not only this practice ,but the policy on the fees and recycling of the " old/bad" batteries is needed. How many people bought batteries after being told that they had a "bad" battery? Time for legal action!? A class action lawsuit? Btw...Omar very rude, arrogant and dismissive, not a good look Autzone! I told him I'd call HQ, and he snidely replied " what am i going to tell them", go ahead and lol good luck"! My reply, none of his business, but be assured calls will be made! Shameful! Btw...after leaving AZ went directly across the street to Advance Auto checked out battery, alternator and starter and was told everything was beautiful all was working perfectly! Hmmmm....something is very fishy! I've contacted corporate by email and the CEO, as of yet, no response, and I'm sure that the owner of this location will reply with the same boilerplate reply as with all other negative reviews, yes i've read all of the half-hearted replies all boilerplate and generic.

My grandpa had great experience at AutoZone in Chicago ridge. He stopped in to get his check engine light scanned, and after getting the diagnostic report, his car suddenly wouldn’t start or crank. One of the employees tried to help for a while but couldn’t figure it out, so my grandpa called a tow truck company. While he was on the phone, Mustafa came outside, took a look under the hood, and within a few minutes used a screwdriver to get the car running again. My grandpa was really thankful. Mustafa didn’t have to do that, and it saved him from paying for a tow. Great customer service and a very knowledgeable employee.
