I had my tires changed, break lights and battery all done here. I have been going to the Buffalo Grove location for a few years now and love it! Staff is friendly and prompt.
Brought the car in for a small repair and asked the molding that they had attached from a prior repair to be fixed as it began to get detached. Got the car back with the molding loose. When pointed it out the rep, he lifted the molding that had ONLY partial double sided tape attached but the sticky part not removed. Some old tape was still left on there. There was also dirt on the part of the panel where molding is supposed to be attached. So what the rep does was come back with a paper towel, wipe off the dirt and attach the double sided tape in front of me telling me it's all good. I asked them if that going to last a week or what with the area not properly prepped, half of the old tape still on there. He told me they could warranty it for a few months. I had to literally tell him to take the car back in, remove all the old tape, properly prep and clean the area. I don't work for Gerber, WHY am I supposed to tell them how to do their job. This is common sense.

I had one of the WORST overall service experiences at this Gerber location in Buffalo Grove. If you need car repairs, I strongly recommend going anywhere else.
I first brought my brand-new car in in the fall after a small front-end fender bender and had to return five times for the same ongoing issue that I am still dealing with. The front piece was replaced twice, and the other three times the corner seam was simply pushed back in and I was told it was “good to go.” Each time, the problem returned—most recently in April, after the second full replacement, the piece popped back out again within a week.
Communication throughout the process was extremely frustrating. Calls often went unanswered and unreturned. I had to follow up repeatedly, if not every single time I was told I would get a call from Kevin. Kevin handled most of the repairs, and we were constantly chasing him down for information, which was especially frustrating given the repeated issues with his work. Olivia at the front desk would assure us we’d hear back but was rarely ever able to connect us with anyone who could actually help.
After almost eight months of ongoing issues and repeated visits, I will not be returning to this location, as my brand-new car is now stuck in an ongoing cycle of repairs. Even after calling them about the sixth repair my car would now be needing, there was never any acknowledgment or apology for the inconvenience from Olivia or anyone at the location.
Overall, this was one of the most frustrating repair experiences I’ve ever had. I truly wish I had never brought my car to this location. I would strongly recommend going ANYWHERE else to save yourself the time, stress, and hassle you will 100% receive at this location.
