- JSJoe SNov 14, 20253.0The owner is very nice and amiable. The job was done as I wanted it to be however there were two problems I noted afterwards. Firstly, I checked all the lug nuts on all of the wheels and almost all of them were over torqued and my breaker bar was almost not able to loosen most of them. Secondly, ONE of the lug nuts was not even seated on the rim. I had to, "finger tighten" it 3 full turns and that could have been a serious problem if I had not noticed it. This was my third experience with Tuffy. I was told the term, "technician" when I asked about how the job was coming but I would much rather have heard the term, "mechanic" and the next time I go there I am going to ask them if the workers there are qualified Mechanics, or just, "technicians". I am not comfortable with a technician working on my car; I prefer a certified mechanic to do all work on my vehicles.

One shop held my car for over two weeks and never looked at it. I spoke with Tuffy's staff and got my car towed over to them. The owner was thorough, polite, and knowledgeable. Rusty was my main point of contact and the service I received was top tier! I was kept informed every step of the way. No work was completed without my authorization and the only delay was the warranty company sending their inspector. I went from weeks of waiting to my car being complete in 2 days! I'll be back and referring others!!
- MPMary PaganOct 27, 20251.0I took my daughter's Equinox there because she was told it sounded like it was her transmission by a shop that doesn't do that type of work. So I ask them to check it out to make sure. They said it was the transmission. After they did the work they called and said it was still doing the same thing and said they found something in the motor but before they could do any more work, we had to go and pay for the transmission job. After they put the part in for the motor my daughter was on her way home from work when her car started smoking and oil was spilling everywhere. When they checked it, they said that there was a part they had to put in. She ended up having to purchase another car because it still wasn't working right after paying them over $6000. It was the biggest and costly mistake we ever made. It always made me wonder if they even check to see if it was the transmission in the first place. I would never recommend them to anyone. I felt like they took advantage of us.
