- LSLinda ShookOct 7, 20255.0I am writing this review because of the excellent service I received at the CarX Tire and Auto shop on Eastland Dr in Burlington, IL. The Manager, Brandon Shafer, got me through a stressful car breakdown on September 26, 2025, while 523 miles from home. My ignition key just stopped starting the car. The key had no resistance when turning it; however, the battery was always on. That was bad news! I was towed to the CarX location at 1809 Eastland Drive in Burlington. I was told it could be an expensive repair. I am a 74 year-old recent widow taking care of my 2 teenage grandkids, so that was bad news. I tried to get a rental car, but the 2 car rental offices in Burlington were out of cars. I had to rent a 10 ft UHaul moving truck to finish the last 150 miles around Chicago to our destination-- Portage, IN, off the shore of Lake Michigan. During that time, the Store Manager, Brandon, was working on trying to reach an affordable solution, along with his Auto Tech; who has 30 years of experience, The Tech was also very helpful to me. Brandon kept in constant touch with me about the repair solutions. His communication skills were valuable and appreciated. He and his Auto Tech had empathy for my vulnerable money situation. I was back on the road in a couple of days with an affordable solution! I am thankful to them, and to God for placing me there at the right place and time. It is comforting to know there are companies with employees that care so much about others!
