  This was the second Volvo that we leased for our oldest daughter. We chose McGrath based on the professionalism of our sales person Derrick Acker. His persistence 6 months prior to the lease ending paid off. We had the opportunity to take this to another local Volvo dealership and compare as it's a commodity product (or so I thought). Before I even left, I received a phone call from the general manager. Alex instructing me to not rush and there was only one hour left before they closed and he knew coming from LAKE FOREST to Barrington that it's not exactly close. I thought that was a nice gesture. It took a little bit of the pressure off the whole experience from beginning to end I can genuinely say having least in the double digits of various automobiles that this was the single best experience I've ever had I believe the gentleman's name is Don in Leasing finishing the process with him really was the icing on the cake Guy was so kind, professional, and easy to work with. Lastly I'll say that for my four kids as long as I'm paying they will only drive Volvo SUV's. Two summers ago one was totaled with 3 of my children inside and they all by the grace of God walked away unscathed. My non Volvo lease is up in September and I'm now eyeing a certain hybrid SUV so I hope the pencils are sharp!

  Franz Mausser in sales is the best! No pressure, polite, respectful and very attentive to your automotive purchasing needs. Takes the time to listen to your needs and expectations, then delivers. Definitely see Franz if you are looking for a volvo to purchase or lease

  I wouldnt recommend buying from this location as they are dishonest and unhelpful. I tried to buy out my lease and had my payout amount from volvo financial directly, but this dealership quoted me more because they had unknowningly included add ons that i did not want. They couldn't give me a straight answer of how much to pay in person and so I ultimately paid directly with volvo financial. They were wrong about the duration of my lease so they could con me into certifying the car and squeeze out more money. Additionally, their lease department is unprofessional and political. When trying to buy out my lease, the manager made comments about "needing to pay taxes to the billionaire in springfield," as if that matters at all. He also spoke condescendingly about my wife and would often circumvent her and go to me when she was the one directly emailing him. I'd recommend this location invest in the Dale Carnegie course for it's employees if it wants to capture the next generation of volvo buyers. Take your chances, but I wouldn't expect very good or honest service

  I very rarely leave reviews, that said in case of McGrath Volvo I'll make exception. Recently I bought 2026 V60, the overall experience of buying the car was expectational. The whole transaction was very swift and transparent including trade-in. Special thanks to John Van Gilder.

  Car buying is stressful, right??? Not a Volvo McGrath in Barrington, and especially not when working Franz Mausser. Since my first Volvo experience over a decade ago (I'm on my 4th Volvo). I actually look forward to spending time with Franz and the McGrath team reviewing the choices and selecting the exact vehicle that meets my needs, and budget. No hype, no pressure, Franz takes the time to understand the situation and then presents options, objectively, factually, allowing us to assess the choices and make the decision that is right for us. And when follow up is needed, in the shop, or in my case trying to program the keys and app, Franz is always available and proactive in making sure everything is perfect. It's not often you make a friend when buying a car, quite often it is just the opposite. I am fortunate to have made a friend, whom I can trust, when it is time for a new car. If you are considering a new vehicle, do yourself a favor, --Call Franz at McGath Volvo in Barrington, you will be in for a treat, and will probably make a new friend.
