Cesar’s team was excellent! I switched from ADS to interlock because of the many problems that ADS system had.

Service was terrible. Wouldn't let me wait for my vehicle. Very, very poor knowledge of how it works. Stayed for 10 minutes & called it quits. Never got the car started. Called a tow truck at 2 pm said 1 hr. Called again at 2pm & they said 2 1/2 hours. Finally got there at 8 p m. Loaded up & driver got a call from his office to move an accident vehicle in Montgomery. Took me there & finally home after 9 pm. It all sucked. Batttery dead next am. Called another installer in Batavia & he said he'd call it in and get permission to pick it up. He called me when it was ready, I started it up and drove 1 1/2 miles home. As I pulled into my driveway I could see my headlights on the garage. 1/2 way up the drive the car died and wouldn't start again..What gives?

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
