- BHBrian Holman4 days ago4.0Got a quote from the dealership that was exorbitant. Pointe S was fast and reasonable. Only slight changes from the initial quote as one part was more expensive due to specific car model and also needed brake fluid flush but they were communicative and thorough.

They said brakes were fine but the wheel bearing was bad and needed to be replaced and that’s probably where the noise was coming from. I ok’d the fix. Later got a call saying the CV boot was stuck and they needed to break it to get to the bearing and it would cost $100 plus more. Not knowing much about cars I ok’d this too. The cost came to over $900. When I got home I checked all the lug nuts since a previous place I had gone to didn’t tighten them all and I lost a few. I was a bit surprised how inconsistently tight/loose my lug nuts were when I got home. I don’t understand why a torque wrench is not used every time wheels are removed. Anyway, I tightened them all so I wouldn’t loose any later. The noise my car went in for was an intermittent noise and I didn’t hear it originally but sure enough it came back. It seems that now I hear a clicking noise intermittently when going from forward to reverse and back. I’m kind of wondering what I spent $900 on. Gunna have to find a shop I can trust.

The service and communication is always top-notch. I appreciate all the help getting my car dialed in and the service techs on the floor were very professional!
