  At this gas station I had the misfortune of driving away from the pump while the nozzle was still in my vehicle. The hose disconnected. The maintenance man and acting manager BOTH told me that as long as it was not broken and the hose reconnected I would not have to pay $150 for a replacement part. They assured me that this happened all the time and not to worry. The hose reconnected. My coworker and I smiled at the maintenance man and said goodbye. Later a policeman showed up at my work to tell me the manager had accused me of running off without paying. I was floored and also embarrassed in front of my coworkers and boss. I went to the gas station to settle up and heard a very different tune this time. “Well it’s standard that we always replace it”. If this happens all the time and that’s standard, why was I told by two people that as long as it wasn’t broken I was fine? The employee seemed to think that my work would cover it since I was in a work vehicle, but I assured him they will not. I am a seasonal employee and I don’t make much. The entire situation was handled extremely poorly and sufficiently humiliated me. I am very disappointed at the way this station is run and will be avoiding it in the future.
