The installation was solid and I’ve had no problems with the device itself however, dealing with and talks a lot has been an enormous pain in my ass. I have a respiratory medical condition and it took them over a week to recalibrate the equipment to accommodate my lung space. and the advice that I received on how to use the device after the install was completely whack and incorrect. I followed it to a T and ended up being locked out of my car and had to drive home with the alarm lights and horns flashing quite embarrassing due to inadequate and incorrect advice.

The install was great!! Didn’t mean for this review to go directly to this amazing shop! The actual Intoxalock company is the issue here. I’m not back on the road yet because you guys haven’t submitted my interlock stuff to the Arizona MVD yet which is what I’ve been waiting on. So I’m paying for this thing for no reason until you get it done. I’ve been thrown around from one Indian to another dozens of times, no one understands anything. You set me up with multiple different install appointments and charged me for 2 leases. Ridiculous. Just submitt the info. To Arizona and I’ll leave ya’ll alone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event.
