My husband and I rented a vehicle. When we returned the vehicle, we were told:
1. Dogs are not allowed in the car (that’s not true. Dogs must be in a crate unless it’s a service animal, then they can be out of a crate).
2. We were not getting our $200 deposit back due to pet hair.
We were told that the employees make it clear that you can’t smoke in the vehicle and there are no pets allowed when you pick up your vehicle. This was not communicated to me or my husband during pick up, we were both present at pick up. If we would have known about the pet policy, we obviously would have figured out a different plan.
The manager, Chad, was the employee who rented the vehicle to us. Chad told us that he did tell us about the smoking and pet policy, flat out lying to us. Chad also told us that this is in the rental agreement (it’s not).
We understand the charge for pet hair. What we don’t understand, is why this wasn’t communicated beforehand and why we are being told information that isn’t true.
Being charged $200 isn’t the issue; if there is pet hair in the vehicle, then the company has to get the car detailed. I completely understand that. The issue is that we are being directly lied to and receiving information that isn’t true about the rental agreement.
Update:
I called the detailing company that enterprise in CDA is in contract with. Chad had told me that the detailing company will charge $200 to clean the car and this is why we are losing the full $200 deposit. Chad told me to even call the detailing company.
When I called the detailing company, I was told that this is false. They do not just charge enterprise $200 for detailing and that the fee would be through enterprise themselves. The fee for the detailing would be whatever the enterprise contract states.
You guys are lying and just trying to steal peoples deposits. I called enterprise again and asked for the regional managers information and I notified them about what the detail company said. I was told that they can’t give out the regional managers personal information due to “security reasons”? I’m asking for a mangers work contact information, not personal information? James, who I spoke to, was disrespectful, rude and condescending. I was also told that at the CDA Enterprise location it’s the managers discretion for what a customer is charged as far as the cleaning fee, so I was lied to again.
You guys can’t get your information straight and you are scamming people. Do not go here.
