Let me start by saying I have rented with Enterprise for years & not had a single issue anywhere l have rented around the country. But the Caldwell location was horrible experience today & has absolutely terrible customer service. This is now 2x I have had a reservation at this location for a specific class of vehicle (Premium SUV), only to arrive & have the vehicle not available when I arrived. The Caldwell location is the only game in town & their people do not seem to care about their customers time because of this.
Their counter person Jonah did not seem to care one bit & would not help me when Enterprise dropped the ball. I get that mistakes happen, but the unwillingness to solve the problem is unacceptable. Jonah tried to push it back on me saying that he called to let me know. He call at 3:54pm for a 4:30pm reservation & I was already en route arriving early for the reservation. His suggestion was either a minivan which does not work or for me to drive to the Boise Airport during rush hour to get the premium or full size SUV.
I expect more from Enterprise as a Gold member. My suggestion is to avoid the Caldwell location, they do not seem to care.

Not sure the name of the gentleman that helped us today with returning our rental car. Upon receiving the rental, there was an inspection. A crack in the passenger windshield was discovered while we had the car and we did not know if it was there or not prior. We looked at pictures that were taken by enterprise and even with the photo zoomed in we couldn’t tell if there was a crack or not. Despite us “not being at fault” because you can’t control those situations, we stil received great customer service from our agent. I will add, the reason for the 4 star review is due to our insurance agent setting this up for us but not getting a generalized run down of their policies verbally just in case. But that still would not have affected us choosing to accept the $50 down payment to hold until we dispute the payment through our insurance. We still would have had to pay whether we had that verbal explanation or not.

I rent from them regularly. Pretty much every weekend. They never have the vehicle I book online and I always have to wait more than an hour because they have to clean the car when I get there. They charged me for 2 days on my prior rental when I only had the car for one day. I was told they would refund the money and I requested a free day. Fast forward 2 weeks... I booked expecting a free day and then I am told at the front desk that "it can only be used as a discount of the total and it can't cover the full price". So I ask for something more expensive totaling $90 expecting a $55 discount. I was charged $57.50. But if that's not enough to sour the arrangement. I drive off and go to Walmart. When I return to the car, my wife points out that the back tire says 26 psi while the others say 35. Since they're already closed I go get air ($3). We continue our prearranged trip about 2 hours at the next location and the tire is back to 23 psi so I get more air ($3) and to the next stop and yeah you could have guessed it ($3) more on air. Now Airbnb and bed. I wake up to a flat tire, I order a portable air pump ($26) from Walmart wait 2 hours, late to nephews bday and my wife baked the cake 😩. Experience just gets worse every time. I think this will be my last time using Enterprise.

Overall, pretty good experience. I would caution and recommend that you not only walk the OUTSIDE of the vehicle before you drive off, but also the INSIDE of the vehicle! We were first time car renters and didn't know this. There was a piece missing off the inside of the driver's door when we got the car. We later were being charged for this damage as we had no proof that we didn't cause this. Thankfully we were able to get it all taken care of but learned a stressful lesson. Walk the OUTSIDE and the INSIDE. Document EVERYTHING!!
