First, I want to say this review is for the Safelite company in general, not for the technicians at this shop as they were quite nice.
We had our back passenger window smashed out in a car theft incident last week and needed the window fully replaced. I scheduled with Safelite online the morning of Friday, 4/3/2026, for an appointment date of Monday, 4/6/2026 at 12:00pm. I was quoted $459 for the parts and labor before tax.
I got confirmation texts Friday that the window was ordered, there were no delays in the shipment, and even a text Monday morning confirming the appointment that day. My partner and I drove both our cars to the shop to drop off the damaged vehicle at the scheduled time, only to be told they didn't have the window in and were not sure when it would get there.
After having a stressful week having our stuff stolen and window smashed, we were ready to have this behind us, but now had to wait longer, and we weren't even told before our appointment time of the delay or how much longer it might be to get the glass in.
I called the Safelite customer support number to lodge the complaint and asked for a discount as we took time off work and drove all the way to the shop to be turned around. The customer support rep told me they could reschedule me for Wednesday and would give me $60 off, which seemed okay at the time, but then I called a local glass shop that could get the part in the next day and quoted me $325 all in for parts and install, $95 dollars cheaper than Safelite WITH the "discount" they gave me.
At this point, I was tired of dealing with Safelite, and went online to cancel my Wednesday appointment since the local shop was still cheaper after the discount. To my surprise, the website gave me an automatic message saying "If you don't cancel your appointment, we will give you $100 off" which would have been in addition to the $60 off I already had credited on the work order. This actually just pissed me off more, because now I know how overpriced Safelite is, and if they could give me that huge of a discount just to not cancel the appointment, I should have received it from the customer support rep at the time of calling, not a measly $60.
On another note, you can't even talk to a technician when you call this Safelite store number, it is an automated service, that after you ask to speak to a representative, it transfers you to an AI agent, which ALSO CONFIRMED MY APPOINTMENT that morning when I tried calling. So, if Safelite reads this, get rid of the AI agent, it's dumb.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would but I’m forced to leave one.
My rearview mirror fell out of the windshield while I was driving, which is obviously a huge safety hazard. This happened on Saturday, and I was told the warranty department was closed until Monday. That meant I had to go two days without being able to safely drive my car.
When I called on Monday, the representative explained that the warranty is “lifetime” as long as you own the car and that it covers things like rain damage, faulty glass, and installation errors, etc. Based on that conversation, it sounded like the issue would likely be covered. However, they couldn’t send someone out until Tuesday leaving me without my car for four days.
When the technicians finally came out on Tuesday, they took photos and said their manager would review everything and call me back. I was still left with a vehicle I couldn’t safely drive. A few hours later the manager called and claimed the issue was caused by “external damage,” even though no external damage occurred.
As a mom with kids who need to get to school and activities, being left without a safe vehicle for days was extremely stressful and inconvenient.
I used to highly recommend Safelite to my friends and family, but after this experience I absolutely will not be doing that anymore. Being left without a drivable vehicle for days and then having a legitimate issue dismissed like this is extremely frustrating. Extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled.
