- RWRiver WilliamsDec 29, 20251.0I went in a while back because I wanted an oil change, reasonable enough right? The first man I spoke with I clearly stated I ONLY want an oil change. The I went through their process being a new customer and all. The whole process ended up taking about an hour or so. The guy who I spoke with about only getting an oil change didn’t bother to mention that an “oil change” by jiffy lives standards and what an oil change actually means are two completely different things. Their version of an oil change involves checking all your fluids, your air filter your battery etc. Basically a full checkup on your vehicle, now I can’t speak for anyone else. But to me an oil change involves removing the old oil and filter and replacing them with new and clean filter and oil. I eventually had a lovely chat with a lady there who was very insistent on arguing with me about how they do things there. Well that’s all fine and good, but I asked only for an oil change. And the condition of my air filter isn’t remotely something that you need to be touching. Never going back, the people who looked me dead in my face and nodded when I asked explicitly for what I wanted. Then proceeded to ignore my request and then try and make me out to be the bad guy?? Total waste of money and time. Not to mention no one bothered to communicate or even apologize for the fact that they made a mistake. Just go to Walmart, an oil change is a fraction of the time and the cost. And if you say only an oil change they actually listen to you.

They replaced the gasket and the oil but my car didn't drive the way it had before the oil change. Richard kept saying the engine light was just a faulty sensor that hadn't reset and I should just keep driving it I knew it wasn't running right so I took it to the Kia dealer and they said I need a new engine.because the engine when the oil pressure dropped the timing chain slit, metal got in the oil and then circulated through the engine. I only had 18,000 mi on this car and it ran just fine before the oil change. I'm having a really hard time getting anyone to call me back from jiffy lube but I expect them to pay for the new engine and the rental car.
