  *edit2: going down to 1 star again because it has now been over 5 days they said they would honor the price they told me and refund me my money and they have not done it. *edit1: They have reached out to me and they were really friendly and understanding. They said they would honor the reduced rate they said they would be giving me. I am still waiting for them to honor that. I am changing this from a 1 star to a 3 star on the account that the staff was very nice to me and are trying to resolve the billing issue. Once they actually do I will change this to a 5 star because it will show they can be trusted and the staff are really sweet people.* I entered a 9 day rental agreement through Alamo/Enterprise last week and 3 days into the term the vehicle started malfunctioning and would shut off in the middle of driving it and the dash would display "put the car in park and restart" it lost all breaking and steering and I was unable to pull it off the road. It started around 3 in the afternoon. I was able to get to restart and drive a couple of minutes before it happened again. I did this until I could actually find a place to pull off the road out of traffic. Once pulled over, it took me multiple attempts to get through to someone that actually believed I was in a rental agreement because the roadside staff kept telling me I had already turned in the vehicle and they couldn't send out roadside assistance. At about 7 o'clock that evening I was finally able to get them to see I was still in procession of their vehicle so they could help me get a replacement. The staff told me if I hadn't heard from the towing company by 8pm to call them back. 8pm came and I hadn't heard from anyone. I called them back only to get no answer for about 30 minutes past 8 I tried calling and no answer. I started to think I was being scammed. I started having family members help call the number until finally someone picked up and said they were deploying a vehicle and it would be another 30 to 45 minutes. Finally, at 9:15 pm, a tow truck brought me a replacement vehicle. I understand mechanical issues can't be predicted but it was the lack of timely response, the fact they thought I didn't even have the vehicle anymore and not being able to get the help when I needed it that is unacceptable. When I turned in the vehicle the staff member asked if I had any issues. I reiterated my experience and he asked how can we make this right. He offered to reduce my rental agreement by $300 dollars for the week. Today they processed full payment with no discount. Yet again, major communication error. I am very dissatisfied and will not be using Alamo/Enterprise ever again in the future.

  After over 2 years of frequently renting from Alamo, I am done. I called to make another reservation with them, was told they could not email me the correct information for the cost, so I called back a couple of days later requesting it (as I always had received in the past), to be told that they no longer do it that way. I was told that it'll get "adjusted" at the counter. No thank you.

  We picked up a car at 12:30am on Friday night early Saturday morning and drove it to a parking garage in Boise. Drove the car hardly at all. Turned the car in at the airport and the young man checking us in immediately said “ oh there is a dent, what did you hit?” The dent was under the car on the drivers side not visible unless you get down on your knees and looked under the car! We did not hit anything with this car and how this young man had super powers to see this is beyond me!

  Because of the great service I received - ease of finding a vehicle, in person customer service, and ease of physically getting the car- I will always go to Alamo Rent A Car first at this point!
