I started at O'Reillys with this older car I knew nothing about and needed to get home now, some 1200 miles away! I left said parts store, feeling overwlemed, isolated, and didn't have any more information about this car than before i went in. Let's just say, I walked into Advance Auto needing this pos new, used car to be trip ready and on the road, a while ago... . So i was rushed, agitated, out of my element, hot, tired (cause now it was pushing midafternoon), on and on....When I went in to Advanced Auto, Tiffany was poised and ready. She greeted me directly with a genuine smile. I think she could tell i was frazzled, beside myself and serious. She mirrored my energy immediately. As I told her my story and all the details, she helped me break each issue down, one by one. I asked her what she thought and what she would do, and she just followed my train of thought, giving very knowledgeable feedback; walking thru each issue I was having, one at a time. She spoke thoughtfully and was thorough brainstorming ideas and getting all the parts together. She rechecked everything to confirm it was ẅhat I needed and accurate. The price tag was a little more than expected, but Tiffany just exudes professional honesty. I trusted her recommendations. After i purchased the arsenal of car parts, I asked if it was ok if i pulled the car off to the side and attended to it close by, just in case i needed something else or had a question. Tiffany said, "no problem".. From the first spark plug, on, I had complications. By now, Jeff was listening to my unfolding vehicular melodrama with Tiffany. They gave me excellent advice everytime something would stump me . As things got weirder with this car, Jeff employed some really cool tricks that made some hard stuff way easier. He and Tiffany had tons of useful and relevant ways to do things. They made some problems doable that were seemingly, undoable. Tiffany and Jeff were instrumental, not only in assisting me getting back home, but also, how they kept periodically checking on how i was feeling, because, I'll be honest, I was pretty freaked out; mostly cool and collected, but there were a couple times I was just overtaken by stress and circumstance. They remained calm, creative, and inspiring. They worked together- problem solving, diagnosing, and articulating information to me in a way I could understand. They were kind and made me feel safe. I have finally made my way out of Mason City, and to both of you-thank you! Thank you for your competency, your patience, your sense of humor, your dedication to your craft, and your efforts. Really, I'm so glad to have met both of you and yours. You are great people. You made a frightening, messed up situation not so frightening and messed up. It was an honor to meet you both. Advance Auto is lucky you represent them. Mason City is lucky to have you as a part of the community. Thank you! Thank you so much! :)

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
