  Excellent experience across the board. From the first phone call and interaction all the way up to leaving the shop. Everyone was nice and knowledgeable. I got to listen to multiple options on my truck before making any decisions. The tech that helped me genuinely wanted to make sure I made the right decision for my application. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision so they could move onto the next one. Couldn't ask for better craftsmanship. Welds look great and I'm more than happy with the end result. And all at a very fair price. This place feels exactly how you would expect an honest family owned and operated company to. You have a customer for life, I'll never need to find another shop for exhaust work. Thanks for everything (and for letting me see your dogs)

  Iowa Mufflers & Brakes is the best place to go in town for exhaust and brake repairs. I had my brakes go out on me twice this week on 2 different vehicles both times they took care of me same day for a fair price. Great work for a great price would recommend this shop to all my friends and family.

  Best experience! They listened to my concern and fixed my concern for under $200.00 as opposed to the “at least $2,800.00 if not more” quote I received the day before. They involved me in the process - physically showed me the problem, explained how it could be fixed and fixed it in less than an hour (even made the muffler look “prettier”. Hands down best 1st time experience at Iowa Muffler!!! Highly recommended by a Chicago Bears 🐻 fan!! ☺️☺️

  WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have experienced in a long while. I called in looking to fix the exhaust drone that I’m experiencing in my vehicle after bringing it to them prior. Naturally after spending over $1000 with them the first time and still not having a good sounding exhaust, I had multiple questions about parts and pricing. The main person I talked with, Hailey, was very helpful and tried to answer my questions as best as possible, but was having to ask another person there (I think her name was Jennifer) for the answers to some of my questions. Eventually I asked what the cost of the resonator I wanted would be if I bought it through them. Hailey tried to get the answer, and then Jennifer hopped in the call with an attitude and REFUSED TO TELL ME THE COST until I drove clear into the middle of Des Moines to meet with them. I should not need to come in to get a simple price on a part. It is not unreasonable for me to want to budget the cost of repairs before coming in so I can make less trips, yet that is the attitude she was having. If I was doing an elaborate exhaust that required specialized skills or an undefined amount of labor hours, I would understand. But to refuse to tell me a simple part price is ridiculous and SHADY. I ended up ordering the part online myself, but refuse to ever give them another dime, simply because of the horrible customer service I received from Jennifer. I will be taking my vehicle to west-side muffler and repair in Indianola instead, which answered all of my questions in a timely and respectful manner, and gave me a lower quote for the work. DON’T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF COMING HERE.
